Interplay of structure, magnetism and resistivity of La0.5Ca0.54MnO3+x

- The structure of La0,5Ca0,5MnO3 is well known for T> 250 K and T( 150 K. But in the intermediate region some structure characteristics are difficult to understand [1]. This Letter studies in this temperature region the interrelation between structure and the experimental data like magnetism and resistivity on the basis of a vibron-electron dynamic equilibrium hypothesis. It has been shown that behavior of paramagnetic-to-ferromagnetic transition can be explaned in the framework of this hypothesis.

- Electrical resistivity of crystalline and disordered fullerite samples obtained by static high-pressure-high-temperature treatment of C-60 and C-70 at P = 12.5 GPa and T = 820-1500 K was investigated in the temperature range of 2.4-300 K, Room-temperature activation energy of charge carriers was found to be in the range 40-200 meV. T-3/2 and T-4 dependencies of conductivity versus temperature were revealed both in crystalline and disordered structures. Photoluminescence spectra of C-60 samples treated at P = 13 GPa. T = 770-1470 K show 50 nm short-wave length shift of characteristic 750 nm PL band.

- One of the folklore questions in the theory of free boundary problems is the lifetime of the starlike dynamics in a Hele-Shaw cell. We prove precisely that, starting with a starlike analytic phase domain Omega(0), the Hele-Shaw chain of subordinating domains Omega( t), Omega(0) = Omega(0), exists for an infinite time under injection at the point of starlikeness.
