Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- This article presents two studies of name phrases (noun phrases designating an individual, with a personal name as their head) in sources from Stockholm from around 1500 and 1700. The structure of such phrases, and the lexicon of commonly used name-phrase elements, underwent a revolution between the two points in time studied. Innovations include widespread use of family names and many new preposed attributes. The new system is more elaborate, and in general better at expressing degrees of status. Major gender differences exist at both points in time, but certain features could suggest a more individualised view of women in early modern times than in the late Middle Ages.

Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
- Sveriges medeltida personnamn (SMP) is the name of a dictionary of personal names in medieval sources from Sweden, based on large collections in Uppsala. The forename-part of the dictionary is in course of publication. The aim of this paper is to give some glimpses of the way the dictionary has treated material from Finland. Finland was a part of the Swedish realm up until 1809, and in the main the dictionary treats material from Finland in the same way as material from present Sweden. There are room for criticism, however, particularly as regards the treatment of Finnish forenames and forename forms influenced by Finnish. However, the author wishes to underline the value of the dictionary and its collections as a source for personal names from Finland in the medieval period.
