  • Improved efficiency of organic solar cell using MoS2 doped poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT) as hole transport layer
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Applied Surface Science. - : ELSEVIER. - 0169-4332 .- 1873-5584. ; 590
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We report an efficient hole transporting layer (HTL) for organic solar cell (OSC) based on solution-processed organic-inorganic hybrid composed of ultrasonic-exfoliated MoS2 nanosheets and dopamine-copolymerized poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) derivative (DA-P). The OSCs based on this new hybrid HTL show a marked performance improvement over those with single-component HTLs, and they retain up to 80% of their original power conversion efficiency after 35 days. Our investigations reveal that the boost in performance is due to a synergistic effect that improves both hole transport and extraction ability. This effect is mainly due to the doping of exfoliated-MoS2 nanosheets on DA-P. We employ a comprehensive range of spectroscopies to uncover that the dopant is derived from the oxidation products of MoS2 nanosheets during the ultrasonic exfoliation. Our work demonstrates an efficient hybrid HTL and offers new insights into the interaction of exfoliated-MoS2 nanosheets and the PEDOT derivatives.

  • Neural Network Models and Transfer Learning for Impedance Modeling of Grid-Tied Inverters
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: 2022 IEEE 13TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON POWER ELECTRONICS FOR DISTRIBUTED GENERATION SYSTEMS (PEDG). - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The future power grid will be supported by a large number of grid-tied inverters whose dynamics are critical for grid stability and power flow control. The operating conditions of these inverters vary across a wide range, leading to different small-signal impedances and different grid-interface behaviors. Analytical impedance models derived at specific operating points can hardly capture nonlinearities and nonidealities of the physical systems. The applicability of electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulations is often limited by the system complexity and the available computational resources. This paper applies neural network and transfer learning to impedance modeling of gridtied inverters. It is shown that a neural network (NN) trained by data automatically acquired from EMT simulations outperforms the one trained by traditional analytical models when unknown information exist in simulations. Pre-training the NN with analytically calculated data can greatly reduce the amount of simulation data needed to achieve good modeling results.

  • Pyrrolic N or pyridinic N : The active center of N-doped carbon for CO2 reduction
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Cuihuà xuébào. - : Elsevier BV. - 0253-9837 .- 1872-2067. ; 43:9, s. 2405-2413
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Pyridinic N is widely regarded as the active center while pyrrolic N has low-activity in metal-free N-doped carbon for electrocatalytic CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) to CO, but this viewpoint remains open to question. In this study, through density functional theoretical calculations, we first illustrate that the intrinsic activity of pyrrolic N is high enough for effectively catalyzing CO2RR, however, due to the interplay with the neighboring pyridinic N sites, the activity of pyrrolic N is dramatically suppressed. Then, experimentally, metal-free N-doped carbon spheres (NCS) electrocatalysts without significant pyridinic N content are prepared for CO2RR. The pyrrolic N in NCS shows a direct-positive correlation with the performance for CO2RR, representing the active center with high activity. The optimum NCS could produce syngas with a wide range of CO/H-2 ratio (0.09 to 12) in CO2RR depending on the applied potential, meanwhile, the best selectivity of 71% for CO can be obtained. Intentionally adding a small amount of pyridinic N to the optimum NCS dramatically decreases the activity for CO2RR, further verifying the suppressed activity of pyrrolic N sites by the neighboring pyridinic N sites. This work reveals the interaction between a variety of N species in N-doped carbon, and the potential of pyrrolic N as the new type of active site for electrocatalysts, which can improve our understanding of the electrocatalysis mechanism and be helpful for the rational design of high-efficient electrocatalysts.
