  • The first visual object tracking segmentation VOTS2023 challenge results
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: 2023 IEEE/CVF International conference on computer vision workshops (ICCVW). - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. - 9798350307443 - 9798350307450 ; , s. 1788-1810
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Visual Object Tracking Segmentation VOTS2023 challenge is the eleventh annual tracker benchmarking activity of the VOT initiative. This challenge is the first to merge short-term and long-term as well as single-target and multiple-target tracking with segmentation masks as the only target location specification. A new dataset was created; the ground truth has been withheld to prevent overfitting. New performance measures and evaluation protocols have been created along with a new toolkit and an evaluation server. Results of the presented 47 trackers indicate that modern tracking frameworks are well-suited to deal with convergence of short-term and long-term tracking and that multiple and single target tracking can be considered a single problem. A leaderboard, with participating trackers details, the source code, the datasets, and the evaluation kit are publicly available at the challenge website1

  • NTIRE 2022 Burst Super-Resolution Challenge
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: 2022 IEEE/CVF CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER VISION AND PATTERN RECOGNITION WORKSHOPS (CVPRW 2022). - : IEEE. - 9781665487399 - 9781665487405 ; , s. 1040-1060
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Burst super-resolution has received increased attention in recent years due to its applications in mobile photography. By merging information from multiple shifted images of a scene, burst super-resolution aims to recover details which otherwise cannot be obtained using a simple input image. This paper reviews the NTIRE 2022 challenge on burst super-resolution. In the challenge, the participants were tasked with generating a clean RGB image with 4x higher resolution, given a RAW noisy burst as input. That is, the methods need to perform joint denoising, demosaicking, and super-resolution. The challenge consisted of 2 tracks. Track 1 employed synthetic data, where pixel-accurate high-resolution ground truths are available. Track 2 on the other hand used real-world bursts captured from a handheld camera, along with approximately aligned reference images captured using a DSLR. 14 teams participated in the final testing phase. The top performing methods establish a new state-of-the-art on the burst super-resolution task.

  • Medium-Term Wind Power Forecasting based on Dynamic Self-Attention Mechanism
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: 2023 IEEE Belgrade PowerTech, PowerTech 2023. - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Medium-Term Wind Power Forecasting (MTWPF), with a 7-day forecasting horizon, can provide important support for dispatch plans in the power system and trading strategies in the electricity market. Existing MTWPF methods usually use the Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) to map the power generated by wind farms. However, the accuracy of the NWP decreases as the forecasting horizon increases, which reduces the performance of the MTWPF. In this paper, we propose a MTWPF model based on multi-head Dynamic Self-Attention mechanism (DSA-MTWPF), which dynamically adjusts the mapping between NWP and wind power according to the change in forecasting horizon. A case study using operational data from one wind farm in China demonstrates that the DSAM-MTWPF outperforms that of the state-of-the-art MTWPF models.

  • Interim effects of salt substitution on urinary electrolytes and blood pressure in the China Salt Substitute and Stroke Study (SSaSS).
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: American Heart Journal. - : Elsevier BV. - 0002-8703 .- 1097-6744. ; 221, s. 136-145
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Salt Substitute and Stroke Study is an ongoing 5-year large-scale cluster randomized trial investigating the effects of potassium-enriched salt substitute compared to usual salt on the risk of stroke. The study involves 600 villages and 20,996 individuals in rural China. Intermediate risk markers were measured in a random subsample of villages every 12 months over 3 years to track progress against key assumptions underlying study design. Measures of 24-hour urinary sodium, 24-hour urinary potassium, blood pressure and participants' use of salt substitute were recorded, with differences between intervention and control groups estimated using generalized linear mixed models. The primary outcome of annual event rate in the two groups combined was determined by dividing confirmed fatal and non-fatal strokes by total follow-up time in the first 2 years. The mean differences (95% CI) were -0.32 g (-0.68 to 0.05) for 24-hour urinary sodium, +0.77 g (+0.60 to +0.93) for 24-hour urinary potassium, -2.65 mmHg (-4.32 to -0.97) for systolic blood pressure and +0.30 mmHg (-0.72 to +1.32) for diastolic blood pressure. Use of salt substitute was reported by 97.5% in the intervention group versus 4.2% in the control group (P<.0001). The overall estimated annual event rate for fatal and non-fatal stroke was 3.2%. The systolic blood pressure difference and the annual stroke rate were both in line with the statistical assumptions underlying study design. The trial should be well placed to address the primary hypothesis at completion of follow-up.

  • Peer-to-Peer Electricity Trading of Interconnected Flexible Distribution Networks Based on Distributed Ledger
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics. - : IEEE Computer Society. - 1551-3203 .- 1941-0050. ; 18:9, s. 5949-5960
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The condition of power imbalance in flexible distribution networks (FDNs) is deteriorated due to the high penetration of distributed generators (DGs). Through peer-to-peer (P2P) electricity trading, multiple regions interconnected by soft open points (SOPs) can flexibly exchange power to alleviate power imbalance. As the physical foundation of P2P transactions, SOP regulation guarantees accurate instruction execution. Besides, smart contracts based on distributed ledger technology (DLT) facilitate highly credible P2P transactions. Oriented for the economic operation of interconnected FDNs, this paper proposes a DLT-based P2P electricity trading method based on intelligent SOP regulation. First, a smart contract is designed for P2P transactions of FDNs, in which trading solutions are automatically settled with a modified highest combined offer (HCO) principle. Then, a trading platform is built for the P2P electricity trading of interconnected FDNs. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified on a practical FDN with four-terminal SOPs in Tianjin.

  • 2021
  • Ingår i: 2021 IEEE/CVF INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER VISION WORKSHOPS (ICCVW 2021). - : IEEE COMPUTER SOC. - 9781665401913 ; , s. 2711-2738
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Visual Object Tracking challenge VOT2021 is the ninth annual tracker benchmarking activity organized by the VOT initiative. Results of 71 trackers are presented; many are state-of-the-art trackers published at major computer vision conferences or in journals in recent years. The VOT2021 challenge was composed of four sub-challenges focusing on different tracking domains: (i) VOT-ST2021 challenge focused on short-term tracking in RGB, (ii) VOT-RT2021 challenge focused on "real-time" short-term tracking in RGB, (iii) VOT-LT2021 focused on long-term tracking, namely coping with target disappearance and reappearance and (iv) VOT-RGBD2021 challenge focused on long-term tracking in RGB and depth imagery. The VOT-ST2021 dataset was refreshed, while VOT-RGBD2021 introduces a training dataset and sequestered dataset for winner identification. The source code for most of the trackers, the datasets, the evaluation kit and the results along with the source code for most trackers are publicly available at the challenge website(1).

  • The orbital effect on the anomalous magnetism and evolution in LaxY1-xVO3 (0 <= x <= 0.2) single crystals
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Journal of Alloys and Compounds. - : Elsevier BV. - 0925-8388 .- 1873-4669. ; 932, s. 167526-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The orbital effect on the anomalous magnetism and evolution of single crystals with low La doping, LaxY1-xVO3 (x = 0, 0.1, and 0.2), has been studied using single-crystal X-ray diffraction, specific heat, mag-netization, and Raman-scattering techniques. It is found that substituting Y3+ by La3+ increases the de-generacy of the yz/zx orbitals and decreases the Jahn-Teller distortion. These weakens the G-type (antiphase ordering along the c axis) orbital ordering phase. Meanwhile, the substituting decreases the magnetism entropy, indicating the shrinking of the t2g and eg orbital hybridization, eventually destabilizing the C-type (in-phase ordering along the c axis) antiferromagnetic ordering phase. In addition, the mechanism for the shrinking of the diamagnetism with increasing x is analyzed. It may attribute to the competition between the antisymmetric Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya interaction and the single-ion anisotropy.

  • Comparison of GaN LED Optical Simulation in 2D and 3D Space Based on k-Domain Analysis Method
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics. - 0018-9197 .- 1558-1713. ; 60:3
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Earlier researchers have designed nanostructures such as stripe gratings (SG) or photonic crystals array (PhCA) to improve the light extraction efficiency (LEE) of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) by the diffraction mechanism. However, through k-domain method and simulation analysis, this letter finds that although SG perform well in 2D simulation, their effect drops sharply in 3D space, a phenomenon being overlooked in the community. This letter explains the diffraction mechanism of LEDs with nanostructure in 2D and 3D space through K-domain analysis, and reveals the inaccuracy of simulating LED with SG in 2D space. Unlike SG, PhCA offers diffraction in two directions and may be more suitable for LEDs.

  • Urban power load profiles under ageing transition integrated with future EVs charging
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Advances in Applied Energy. - : Elsevier BV. - 2666-7924. ; 1, s. 100007-100007
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Understanding ageing transition caused fine-grained changes of electricity profile is the significant insight for coping with future threatens in grid flexibility management. The research gaps for the hourly-basis knowledge exist due to challenges in microanalysis on user-side behavior. Based on billions of users’ behavior data, we investigated the changes on the load profiles due to population aging. We found that owing to ageing transition, the participation population in high electricity-density activities decreases by about 8%. The corresponding shift in driving behavior rises the 14% difference between peak charging load and valley. We concluded that population aging will dramatically change both the magnitude and shape of future dynamic-load profiles. Therefore, we further suggested a new solution with comprehensive and quantitative management for PVs development and the smart charging market with smooth operation of the grid in coupling the potential challenges caused by the ageing issue.
