  • Barnsliga sammanhang : Forskning om barns och ungdomars möjligheter och utmaningar för hälsa och välbefinnande
  • 2024

  • Fire Safety Challenges of Tall Wood Buildings – Phase 2: Task 4 – Engineering Methods
  • 2018
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Recent architectural trends include the design and construction of tall buildings with visible structural members comprised of mass timber. Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is such a mass timber material and is increasingly used for tall buildings because of a combination of advantages regarding its structural performance, low environmental impact and more. As timber is a combustible material, CLT can become involved in the fire if it is not protected against the fire. Previous tests have shown that the contribution of the timber possibly leads to sustained fires that do not burn out, because of failure of the base layer of gypsum boards, debonding of CLT lamellas (delamination) or due to an excess of unprotected timber. If it cannot be assumed that the fire brigade or sprinkler activation will suppress a fire, it can be needed to design for burn-out without successful fire suppression. Engineering methods to limit the impact of gypsum failure, delamination and an excess of exposed timber are needed. Additionally, a method for structural design for CLT structures considering natural fires is needed. This report proposes and evaluates pragmatic design methods using parametric design fires. The methods using parametric design fires can only be valid if delamination and failure of the base layer of gypsum boards are avoided. Therefore, an additional method to predict gypsum fall-off is presented. A method to avoid delamination is presented in other work. The parametric fire design methods proposed, resulted in conservative predictions of the damage of exposed CLT and conservative predictions of the occurrence of gypsum board fall-off. Parametric design fires can be used for structural predictions of the timber building exposed to fire using recently developed methods.

  • Abatacept in rheumatoid arthritis: survival on drug, clinical outcomes, and their predictors-data from a large national quality register
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Arthritis Research & Therapy. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1478-6362 .- 1478-6354. ; 22:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background There are limited data regarding efficacy of abatacept treatment for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) outside clinical trials. Quality registers have been useful for observational studies on tumor necrosis factor inhibition in clinical practice. The aim of this study was to investigate clinical efficacy and tolerability of abatacept in RA, using a national register. Methods RA patients that started abatacept between 2006 and 2017 and were included in the Swedish Rheumatology Quality register (N = 2716) were investigated. Survival on drug was estimated using Kaplan-Meier analysis. The European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) good response and Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ) response (improvement of >= 0.3) rates (LUNDEX corrected for drug survival) at 6 and at 12 months were assessed. Predictors of discontinuation were investigated by Cox regression analyses, and predictors of clinical response by logistic regression. Significance-based backward stepwise selection of variables was used for the final multivariate models. Results There was a significant difference in drug survival by previous biologic disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (bDMARD) exposure (p < 0.001), with longer survival in bionaive patients. Men (hazard ratio (HR) 0.86, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.74-0.98) and methotrexate users (HR 0.85, 95% CI 0.76-0.95) were less likely to discontinue abatacept, whereas a high pain score predicted discontinuation (HR 1.14 per standard deviation, 95% CI 1.07-1.20). The absence of previous bDMARD exposure, male sex, and a low HAQ score were independently associated with LUNDEX-corrected EULAR good response. The absence of previous bDMARD exposure also predicted LUNDEX-corrected HAQ response. Conclusions In this population-based study of RA, bDMARD naive patients and male patients were more likely to remain on abatacept with a major clinical response.

  • Environment Effects in Organizational Form Emergence : The Origin of Two For-Profit Stock Exchanges
  • 2017
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This study sets out to advance our understanding on how organization environments induce highly embedded actors to take up new organizational forms. We conduct comparative historical study of two stock exchanges, Stockholm and Helsinki stock exchange, that became first and second in the world to take up the for-profit organizational model in 1993 and 1995 respectively. We use a large set of digitized archival data from the two settings to analyse organization environment incidents that developed in the two local settings and the organizational activities of the two stock exchanges. We found that external effects were moderated by local effects inducing organizational misfit to accumulate. Most interestingly we found that these environment-organization effects were exacerbated by peer interaction, joint exploratory work for a joint Nordic exchange, cross listings by firms, brokers starting operating at both stock exchanges, and regulatory harmonization work. This peer interaction induced analog competition and convergent guidelines for the new organizational form. Our contribution is to provide a nested model of environment effects on organization emergence and expose peer effects as previously unrecognized organization environment effects.

  • The grammaticalization of prospective aspect in a group of Neo-Aramaic dialects
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Diachronica. - : John Benjamins Publishing Company. - 0176-4225 .- 1569-9714. ; 27:3, s. 359-410
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper examines the development of a future (more precisely ‘prospective’) auxiliary from a motion verb in a small group of Neo-Aramaic dialects spoken in Iraq. The long written record of Aramaic allows us to follow the grammaticalization process in some detail, and recent documentation of dialects has shown that various stages co-exist synchronically. The Neo-Aramaic case challenges the theory that future auxiliaries from a verb ‘to go’ should derive from an imperfective in languages which have one. The development of the auxiliary also involves the reanalysis of a present perfect as an immediate future: this apparently surprising development is explained and possible parallels to it in other languages given. The prospective construction exists alongside another future tense and the differences in form and function can be seen to reflect the different origins and ages of the two constructions. There are strong indications that the prospective construction has developed as a result of contact with a similar vernacular Arabic construction. The distribution and level of maturity of the construction in the different dialects can be explained by an origin in a village close to the Arabic-speaking area, and thence diffusion to the neighbouring villages.
