- In this article, we discuss and give examples of how word-form frequency information derived from existing corpora statistics can be used to improve dictionary content. The frequency information is used in combination with rule-based morphological data based on derivational and inflectional information from the Swedish Morphological Database compiled at the University of Gothenburg, and the lexical database owned by the Swedish Academy. The method currently used in the ongoing project for updating the monolingual Contemporary Dictionary of the Swedish Academy is described, and some examples of dictionary entries identified as candidates for update based on frequency measures are given. Different aspects of morphological dictionary content are discussed and highlighted by comparison between the above-mentioned definition dictionary and a learner’s dictionary. The role of headword or lemma as well as cross-referencing methods in a digital dictionary as compared to a printed dictionary is also discussed. Finally, a few examples of suggested modifications and enhancements are given.

- Developing an app version of a printed dictionary is a new challenge faced by lexicographers. Lexicographers involved in the app development process must consider fundamental lexicographic aspects as well as learn to understand technological and usage issues inherent to the new media. An inevitable question is how closely the content and layout can be made to match the printed dictionary while still offering ‘digital’ functionality such as linking, collapsed sections, audio, etc. Only a few reports discussing these issues have so far been published. The aim of our paper is to further advance the exchange of knowledge and experience by sharing our observations made during the development of a new app corresponding to the comprehensive printed dictionary, Svensk ordbok utgiven av Svenska Akademien (the Contemporary Dictionary of the Swedish Academy, 2009). The app is the result of close cooperation between the financer The Swedish Academy, lexicographers and system developers at the Department of Swedish, University of Gothenburg and Isolve AB, a Stockholm-based app development agency specializing in dictionary apps.

- The SWEGOT lexical resources framework consists of a database model, sample SQL scripts for database update, configuration text files, and program files written in the PHP programming language providing an easy-to-use web interface for searching, comparing and accessing collections of lexical data, such as glossaries. The database model is flexible and additional resources can easily be added with limited configuration needs. The user interface provides several methods for limiting the search results and the presentation grid as suitable for the user. An advanced query interface facilitates comparisons between different lexical resources such as ‘entries found in BookA and BookC, but not in BookB’. Actual access to each lexical resource is provided via image files or links to external resources, as defined separately for each ‘book’.

- The website Morfologilekstugan (‘Morphology playground’) aims at providing a Swedish language morphology tool, primarily for students attending secondary-school teacher education programmes. The students can use the site for analyzing word forms of their choice and for testing their knowledge of word forms and terminology. Data and system functionality is based on previous work at the Department of Swedish, University of Gothenburg. The aim of this paper is to describe the process of creating the website.
