  • Can we rationally design molecularly imprinted polymers?
  • 2001
  • Ingår i: Analytica Chimica Acta. ; 435:1, s. 9-18
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The nearly exponential growth in the molecular imprinting literature has to a large extent been fuelled by an increasing awareness of the potential of molecular imprinting based technologies. Despite the acceptance of the technique by cognate disciplines and the demonstration of its usefulness in a number of enabling technologies, relatively little is known about the molecular level events underlying the imprinting process and subsequent recognition events. What rules govern imprint formation? Can we use such rules to rationally design molecularly imprinted polymers?

  • A deployment system for pervasive computing
  • 2000
  • Ingår i: Proceedings. International Conference on  Software Maintenance, 2000.. - 0769507530 ; , s. 262-270
  • Konferensbidrag (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Software has for a long time been used for controlling different systems. Today, there is a trend towards integrating more software in consumer electronics, home appliances, cars etc. Suddenly software is moving from traditional environments, such as the desktop computer into new and unknown territory. This will influence many aspects of the software engineering process; above all, several new problems have arisen in the domain of software deployment. How can software be effectively deployed in these environments? Current deployment strategies are not directly applicable. The paper discusses problems with current deployment models and proposes a new, modified model. A deployment model for pervasive computing must support component based development, different delivery models, and installation and activation strategies. Support for dynamic installation and activation (i.e. making modifications without de-activating the software), is especially important. We introduce a prototype implementation, the Java Distributed Run-time Updating Management System (JDRUMS), which we have used as a vehicle for eliciting requirements for our deployment model

  • Tools for Improved Performance in the Supply Chain - Experiences from a Software Development Project
  • 2001
  • Licentiatavhandling (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • This thesis deals with tools for operational improvement of supply chain performance. The work was aimed at providing knowledge for supply chain developers and practitioners, and identifying and developing tools for improved performance in a supply chain. The investigation was part of a project financed by the European Commission called "Industrial Supply Chain Optimizer" (ISCO). The thesis consists of an introductory essay and appended papers. The appended papers each describe a selected tool or a combination of tools that improve performance. The tools in combination constitute a simple framework for improved performance in supply chains, which is further discussed in the frame. The tools together constitute the ISCO framework: · Create a process map, including your main supply chain partners (Paper 1 - Process Mapping in Supply Chains) · Find out where the costs are and their cause, including your main supply chain partners (Paper 2 - On Activity-Based Costing in Supply Chains) · Synchronize production and deliveries with your main supply chain partners (Paper 3 - Supply Chain Optimization through Genetic Algorithms) Experience from the case studies shows that the ISCO framework was very quick and simple to implement. The thesis proposes a simple framework for jump-starting improvement initiatives combined with a continuous relationship driver that is likely to be very attractive to supply chain managers.

  • Right-sided human prefrontal brain activation during acquisition of conditioned fear.
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Emotion. - : American Psychological Association (APA). - 1528-3542 .- 1931-1516. ; 2:3, s. 233-41
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This H2(15)O positron emission tomography (PET) study reports on relative regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) alterations during fear conditioning in humans. In the PET scanner, subjects viewed a TV screen with either visual white noise or snake videotapes displayed alone, then with electric shocks, followed by final presentations of white noise and snakes. Autonomic nervous system responses confirmed fear conditioning only to snakes. To reveal neural activation during acquisition, while equating sensory stimulation, scans during snakes with shocks and white noise alone were contrasted against white noise with shocks and snakes alone. During acquisition, rCBF increased in the right medial frontal gyrus, supporting a role for the prefrontal cortex in fear conditioning to unmasked evolutionary fear-relevant stimuli.

  • Veckohandlar kvinnor i större utsträckning än män? : en beteendeekologisk analys
  • 2003
  • Ingår i: Tsunami. - 1651-5803. ; :1
