Such states are relevant to nuclear physics owing to the fact that the badly explored short-range forces in the NN interactions are just the most relevant ones in the NNmacr systems. From the known NN potential, one is led to expect short-range attraction in NNmacr systems, and this should result in quasinuclear bound states in the vicinity of threshold.
