  • Room temperature yield behaviour of a single-crystal nickel-base superalloy with tension/compression asymmetry
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: Computational materials science. - : Elsevier BV. - 0927-0256 .- 1879-0801. ; 47:2, s. 366-372
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The constitutive behaviour at room temperature of a single-crystal nickel-base superalloy is presented in a new model. This model is based on crystal plasticity and takes Schmid- as well as non-Schmid stresses, elastic anisotropy and tension/compression asymmetry into account. By comparison with uniaxial tensile and compressive tests, the model is shown to reproduce the real behaviour well, including the tension/compression asymmetry. The model also shows that typically encountered deviations in orientations ofcastings have a non-negligible influence on stiffness and yield limit, which must be taken into account for industrial applications.

  • Two-Center Double-Capture Interference in Fast He2++H2 Collisions
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: Physical Review Letters. - 0031-9007 .- 1079-7114. ; 102:15, s. 153201-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We report the first observation of Young-type interference effects in a two-electron transfer process. These effects change strongly as the projectile velocity changes in fast (1.2 and 2.0 MeV) He^{2+}-H_2 collisions as manifested in strong variations of the double-electron capture rates with the H_2 orientation. This is consistent with fully quantum mechanical calculations, which ignore sequential electron transfer, and a simple projectile de Broglie wave picture assuming that two-electron transfer probabilities are higher in collisions where the projectile passes close to either one of the H_2 nuclei.

  • Characterization of a Trypanosoma cruzi acetyltransferase : cellular location, activity and structure
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: Molecular and biochemical parasitology (Print). - : Elsevier BV. - 0166-6851 .- 1872-9428. ; 152:2, s. 123-131
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Trypanosomatids are widespread parasites that cause three major tropical diseases. In trypanosomatids, as in most other organisms, acetylation is a common protein modification that is important in multiple, diverse processes. This paper describes a new member of the Trypanosoma cruzi acetyltransferase family. The gene is single copy and orthologs are also present in the other two sequenced trypanosomatids, Trypanosoma brucei and Leishmania major. This protein (TcAT-1) has the essential motifs present in members of the GCN5-related acetyltransferase (GNAT) family, as well as an additional motif also found in some enzymes from plant and animal species. The protein is evolutionarily more closely related to this group of enzymes than to histone acetyltransferases. The native protein has a cytosolic cellular location and is present in all three life-cycle stages of the parasite. The recombinant protein was shown to have autoacetylation enzymatic activity.

  • Evidence of Wave-Particle Duality for Single Fast Hydrogen Atoms
  • 2008
  • Ingår i: Physical Review Letters. - 0031-9007 .- 1079-7114. ; 101:8, s. 083201-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We report the direct observation of interference effects in a Young's double-slit experiment where the interfering waves are two spatially separated components of the de Broglie wave of single 1.3 MeV hydrogen atoms formed close to either target nucleus in H+ + H2 electron-transfer collisions. Quantum interference strongly influences the results even though the hydrogen atoms have a de Broglie wavelength, \lambda_dB, as small as 25 fm.
