  • Parodontitbehandling och/eller tandersättning med implantat?
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: Odontologi 2005: Nordisk odontologisk årbog. ; , s. 57-69

  • Optimal tuning and placement of POD for SSCI mitigation in DFIG-based power system
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: 2019 IEEE Milan PowerTech, PowerTech 2019. - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). - 9781538647226
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The phenomenon of sub-synchronous control interaction (SSCI) in doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs) is investigated and the optimal tuning and placement of a power oscillation damper (POD) for its mitigation is proposed in this paper. The effect of the POD on the DFIG system is studied by placing it at all the summation junctions of rotor-side converter (RSC) and grid-side converter (GSC) controllers, turn by turn. Five local signals are examined as different input signals to the POD out of which three local signals gave promising results. These signals include the DFIG's active power, the magnitude of the DFIG's apparent power, and the magnitude of the current through the transmission line. Residues are calculated for each POD placement and for each input to the POD. The calculated residues are studied along with the root-locus plots to see the effect of the POD on the mitigation of SSCI and the stability of the DFIG-based system.

  • Mitigation of Sub-Synchronous Control Interaction in DFIGs using a Power Oscillation Damper
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: 2017 IEEE Manchester PowerTech, Powertech 2017. - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). - 9781509042371
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The aim of this research work is to analyse subsynchronous control interaction (SSCI) in doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs) and to design a supplementary control technique for the mitigation of SSCI. A mathematical model of the DFIG is derived and linearized in order to perform an eigenvalue analysis. This analysis pinpoints the parameters of the system which are sensitive in making sub-synchronous modes unstable and hence are responsible for causing SSCI. A power oscillation damper (POD) is designed using a residue method to make the DFIG system immune to the SSCI. The POD control signal acts as a supplementary control, which is fed to the controller of the grid-side converter (GSC). The POD signal is applied to different summation junctions of the GSC controller in order to determine the best placement of the POD for effective mitigation of SSCI and for the increased damping of the system.

  • A SANS contrast variation study of microemulsion droplet growth
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: The Journal of Physical Chemistry Part B. - : American Chemical Society (ACS). - 1520-5207 .- 1520-6106. ; 111:4, s. 682-689
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • An extensive small angle neutron scattering study is presented using contrast variation on the growth of nonionic microemulsion droplets as the temperature and thus spontaneous curvature is varied away from the emulsification failure boundary, EFB, toward zero spontaneous curvature. Two ternary systems are compared. They only differ by the chain length of the oil ( decane and hexadecane, respectively). Droplets grow in size as one moves away from the EFB. SANS data from ten different contrasts were fitted simultaneously with a model of polydisperse prolate shaped droplets interacting with an effectively hard sphere potential, and the data set further included three different droplet concentrations and four different temperatures. The model of prolates provided a good description of the data. The prolate axial ratio, obtained from the fits, increased with increasing temperature but showed only a minor variation with the droplet concentration. The two systems with different oils behave quantitatively different. In both systems, however, the droplet growth is only minor, with maximum axial ratios of about 3-4, before a bicontinuous microemulsion is formed.

  • Deletion of a lectin gene does not affect the phenotype of the nematode-trapping fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora
  • 2003
  • Ingår i: Fungal Genetics and Biology. - 1087-1845. ; 39:2, s. 128-135
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A number of filamentous fungi are known to produce high levels of saline-soluble and low-molecular-mass lectins. The function of these proteins are not clear but it has been proposed that they are involved in storage of nutrients, development, recognition of other organisms, and defense reactions. A gene encoding such a lectin (AOL) was deleted in the nematode-trapping fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora by homologous recombination. The deletion mutants did not express any hemagglutinating activity or protein cross-reacting with AOL antibodies. There were no significant differences between the DeltaAOL and wild-type strains in spore (conidia) germination, saprophytic growth, and pathogenicity. Furthermore, there was no significant difference in the growth and reproduction of collembolan feeding on the various strains of A. oligospora. Thus either the previous proposed functions of AOL are not correct, or the fungus can compensate for the absence of the lectin by expressing other proteins with similar function(s) as AOL. • The selection of new reference test tyres for use with the CPX method, to be specified in ISO/TS 11819-3
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: INTER-NOISE 2009. - : Institute of Noise Control Engineering ( INCE ). - 9781615676903 ; , s. 462-470
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The draft for ISO standard ISO 11819-2:2000 for CPX tyre/road noise measurements includes specifications for a set of four standard reference test tyres. These commercially available tyres were selected to cover the different mechanisms responsible for the generation of tyre/road noise. Three were chosen to be representative of passenger car tyres and one to be representative of heavy vehicle tyres. Since the draft standard was first written, these tyres have either been superseded or discontinued. It has therefore been necessary for ISO/TC 43/SC 1/WG 33 (Measuring Methods for Comparing Traffic Noise on Different Road Surfaces), the Working Group responsible for the Standard, to define recommendations for an updated set of reference tyres, at the same time considering whether fewer tyres could be used. This paper provides a summary of the recommendations for the new reference tyres and an overview of the review process which formed the basis of the recommendations, presenting specific results from the evaluation of candidate replacements for ISO tyre A.

  • Report on Promotional Actions and Instruments
  • 2021
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • This report explores how promotional communication between the bioeconomy-related stakeholders can foster the bioeconomy in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Poland. The material was collected during the BioBIGG project and is part of the work package 6. The purpose of the report is to present promotional strategies, actions and instruments that will support the transition towards a bioeconomy in the SBA. Primarily, the project activities inform this report and a specific focus is put on the influence of networks on national and local authorities.Firstly, the existing networks in the SBA and BSR are presented, followed by an analysis of how politics can be influenced in the four project partner countries. Based on the findings, the report suggests that the following communication ideas strengthen the bioeconomy: (1) Network formation is critical to share knowledge and foster cooperation between the different stakeholders. (2) Viewpoints should be effectively communicated to the relevant authorities. (3) Social media and the inclusion of customers prove to be effective ways to increase interest in bio-based products amongst society. (4) The ScanBalt Bioeconomy Working Group is an excellent tool to disseminate the project results.

  • "I'm Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde": Are GPs' antibiotic prescribing patterns contextually dependent? A qualitative focus group study.
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: Scandinavian Journal of Primary Health Care. - : Informa UK Limited. - 0281-3432 .- 1502-7724. ; 31:3, s. 158-165

    • Abstract Objective. To explore factors and circumstances contributing to prudent antibiotic prescribing for respiratory tract infections in primary care. Design. Two focus groups representing rural and urban areas. A semi-structured interview guide with open-ended questions and an editing analysis style was used. They were examined to identify meaning units that were sorted into categories in an iterative process throughout the analysis. Setting. Primary health care in two counties in southern Sweden. Subjects. Two groups including seven and six general practitioners (GPs) respectively, men and women of different ages with different professional experiences. Main outcome measures. Exploration of categories, determination of themes, construction of models. Results. The decision to prescribe antibiotics takes place in the encounter between GP and patient, initially characterized by harmony or fight and the subsequent process by collaboration or negotiation, resulting in agreement, compromise, or disagreement. Several factors influence the meeting and contribute to enhancing the conditions for rational prescribing. These conditions are connected to the GP, the relationship, and the setting; organization as well as professional culture. The findings indicate synergies between the factors, and that one factor can sometimes compensate for lack of another. Continuity and mutual trust can make a brief consultation successful, but lack of continuity can eliminate the effects of knowledge and professional skills. Conclusions. The findings emphasize the importance of the encounter between the GP and the patient for prudent antibiotic prescribing. Furthermore, the importance of an appropriate organization of primary care, which promotes continuity and encourages professional autonomy, is demonstrated.

  • Study protocol: establishment of a multicentre pre-eclampsia database and biobank in Sweden: GO PROVE and UP MOST, a prospective cohort study
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: BMJ Open. - : BMJ Publishing Group Ltd. - 2044-6055. ; 11:11
  • Tidskriftsartikel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Introduction Pre-eclampsia, a multisystem disorder in pregnancy, is one of the most common causes of maternal morbidity and mortality worldwide. However, we lack methods for objective assessment of organ function in pre-eclampsia and predictors of organ impairment during and after pre-eclampsia. The women’s and their partners’ experiences of pre-eclampsia have not been studied in detail. To phenotype different subtypes of the disorder is of importance for prediction, prevention, surveillance, treatment and follow-up of pre-eclampsia.The aim of this study is to set up a multicentre database and biobank for pre-eclampsia in order to contribute to a safer and more individualised treatment and care. Methods and analysis This is a multicentre cohort study. Prospectively recruited pregnant women ≥18 years, diagnosed with pre-eclampsia presenting at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Uppsala University Hospital and at Södra Älvsborgs Hospital, Sweden, as well as normotensive controls are eligible for participation. At inclusion and at 1-year follow-up, the participants donate biosamples that are stored in a biobank and they are also asked to participate in various organ-specific evaluations. In addition, questionnaires and interviews regarding the women’s and partner’s experiences are distributed at follow-up.Ethics and dissemination By creating a database and biobank, we will provide the means to explore the disorder in a broader sense and allow clinical and laboratory discoveries that can be translated to clinical trials aiming at improved care of women with pre-eclampsia. Further, to evaluate experiences and the psychological impact of being affected by pre-eclampsia can improve the care of pregnant women and their partners. In case of incidental pathological findings during examinations performed, they will be handled in accordance with clinical routine. Data are stored in a secure online database. Biobank samples are identified through the women’s personal identification number and pseudonymised after identification in the biobank before analysis. This study was approved by the regional ethical review board in Gothenburg on 28 December 2018 (approval number 955-18) and by the Swedish Ethical Review Authority on 27 February 2019 (approval number 2019-00309).
