Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- We present a tensor calculus for exceptional generalised geometry. Expressions for connections, torsion and curvature are given a unified formulation for different exceptional groups E_{n(n)}. We then consider "tensor gauge fields" coupled to the exceptional generalised gravity. Many of the properties of forms on manifolds are carried over to these fields.

Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- We present a unified and completely general formulation of extended geometry, characterised by a Kac-Moody algebra and a highest weight coordinate module. Generalised diffeomorphisms are constructed, as well as solutions to the section constraint. Generically, additional (“ancillary”) gauge transformations are present, and we give a concrete criterion determining when they appear. A universal form of the (pseudo-)action determines the dynamics in all cases without ancillary transformations, and also for a restricted set of cases based on the adjoint representation of a finite-dimensional simple Lie group. Our construction reproduces (the internal sector of) all previously considered cases of double and exceptional field theories.

Finite tensor deformations of supergravity solitons

Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- We consider brane solutions where the tensor degrees of freedom are excited. Explicit solutions to the full non-linear supergravity equations of motion are given for the M5 and D3 branes, corresponding to finite selfdual tensor or Born-Infeld field strengths. The solutions are BPS-saturated and half-supersymmetric. The resulting metric space-times are analysed.

From supergeometry to pure spinors
- 2010

Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
- In this talk, we review how the superspace formulation of maximallysupersymmetric field theories (including supergravity) naturally leads tointroduction of pure spinors and pure spinor superfields, and why the formalismprovides off-shell formulations. This approach to pure spinor superfields thusstresses field-theoretic aspects rather than the first-quantised ones normallyused e.g. in superstring theory. We discuss how the BRST operator arises andthe principles behind constructions of actions, as well as the generalBatalin-Vilkovisky framework. D=11 supergravity and its recently constructedsupersymmetric action are taken as an example throughout the talk. This is thewritten version of a lecture given at the 6th Mathematical Physics Meeting,Belgrade, September 2010.

Fundamental issues in extended geometry

Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
- This talk gives the basics of extended geometry, with a focus on the gauge trans- formations, the generalised diffeomorphisms. Some global issues are discussed. I also go into some detail about how the formalism can be made to allow for a geometric derivation of discrete duality transformations and of monodromies for non-geometric field configurations.

Higher-dimensional loop algebras, non-abelian extensions and p-branes

Ingår i: Nucl.Phys.B424 (1994) 97.

Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- We postulate a new type of operator algebra with a non-abelian extension. This algebra generalizes the Kac-Moody algebra in string theory and the Mickelsson-Faddeev algebra in three dimensions to higher-dimensional extended objects (p-branes). We then construct new BRST operators, covariant derivatives and curvature tensors in the higher-dimensional generalization of loop space.

Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- Couplings are introduced in the recently proposed non-supersymmetric string theories containing fermions. Both the conformal/Lorentz invariance and the gravity content imply a two-derivative structure. The pomeron singularity is a pole. The structure of loop amplitudes is briefly discussed.
