  • The Science Behind the Academy for Eating Disorders' Nine Truths About Eating Disorders
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: European eating disorders review. - : WILEY. - 1072-4133 .- 1099-0968. ; 25:6, s. 432-450
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • ObjectiveIn 2015, the Academy for Eating Disorders collaborated with international patient, advocacy, and parent organizations to craft the Nine Truths About Eating Disorders'. This document has been translated into over 30 languages and has been distributed globally to replace outdated and erroneous stereotypes about eating disorders with factual information. In this paper, we review the state of the science supporting the Nine Truths'. MethodsThe literature supporting each of the Nine Truths' was reviewed, summarized and richly annotated. ResultsMost of the Nine Truths' arise from well-established foundations in the scientific literature. Additional evidence is required to further substantiate some of the assertions in the document. Future investigations are needed in all areas to deepen our understanding of eating disorders, their causes and their treatments. ConclusionsThe Nine Truths About Eating Disorders' is a guiding document to accelerate global dissemination of accurate and evidence-informed information about eating disorders. • Design, fabrication and characterization of LVOF-based IR microspectrometers
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering. - : SPIE. - 0277-786X .- 1996-756X. - 9781628410785 ; 9130
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper presents the design, fabrication and characterization of a linear variable optical filter (LVOF) that operates in the infrared (IR) spectral range. An LVOF-based microspectrometer is a tapered-cavity Fabry-Perot optical filter placed on top of a linear array of detectors. The filter transforms the optical spectrum into a lateral intensity profile, which is recorded by the detectors. The IR LVOF has been fabricated in an IC-compatible process flow using a resist reflow and is followed by the transfer etching of this resist pattern into the optical resonator layer. This technique provides the possibility to fabricate a small, robust and high-resolution micro-spectrometer in the IR spectral range directly on a detector chip. In these designs, the LVOF uses thin-film layers of sputtered Si and SiO 2 as the high and low refractive index materials respectively. By tuning the deposition conditions and analyzing the optical properties with a commercial ellipsometer, the refractive index for Si and SiO2 thin-films was measured and optimized for the intended spectral range. Two LVOF microspectrometers, one operating in the 1.8-2.8 μm, and the other in the 3.0-4.5 μm wavelength range, have been designed and fabricated on a silicon wafer. The filters consist of a Fabry-Perot structure combined with a band-pass filter to block the out-of-band transmission. Finally, the filters were fully characterized with an FTIR spectrometer and the transmission curve widening was investigated. The measured transmittance curves were in agreement with theory. The characterization shows a spectral resolution of 35-60 nm for the short wavelength range LVOF and 70 nm for the long wavelength range LVOF, which can be further improved using signal processing algorithms.

  • Role of grain boundary sliding in the anisotropy of magnesium alloys
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: Scripta Materialia. - : Elsevier BV. - 1359-6462 .- 1872-8456. ; 61:3, s. 277-280
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The plastic anisotropy of magnesium alloy sheet drops rapidly with test temperature. It has previously been suggested that this may be due to an increase in the activity of 〈c+a〉 dislocations. The present note points out that the phenomenon may result, instead, from the action of grain boundary sliding. This can explain the strong effect of grain size on anisotropy. Furthermore, it points to a new avenue for alloy development. © 2009 Acta Materialia Inc.

  • Correspondence between practitioners' self-assessment and independent motivational interviewing treatment integrity ratings
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Frontiers in psychology. - : Frontiers Media SA. - 1664-1078. ; 13, s. 890579-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • As evaluation of practitioners’ competence is largely based on self-report, accuracy in practitioners’ self-assessment is essential for ensuring high quality treatment-delivery. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between independent observers’ ratings and practitioners’ self-reported treatment integrity ratings of Motivational interviewing (MI). Practitioners (N = 134) were randomized to two types of supervision [i.e., regular institutional group supervision, or individual telephone supervision based on the MI Treatment Integrity (MITI) code]. The mean age was 43.2 years (SD = 10.2), and 62.7 percent were females. All sessions were recorded and evaluated with the MITI, and the MI skills were self-assessed with a questionnaire over a period of 12 months. The associations between self-reported and objectively assessed MI skills were overall weak, but increased slightly from baseline to the 12-months assessment. However, the self-ratings from the group that received monthly objective feedback were not more accurate than those participating in regular group supervision. These results expand findings from previous studies and have important implications for assessment of practitioners’ treatment fidelity: Practitioners may learn to improve the accuracy of self-assessment of competence, but to ensure that patients receive intended care, adherence and competence should be assessed objectively.
