  • Redetermination of dipotassium diuranyl tris(oxalate) tetrahydrate
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Acta Crystallographica Section E. - : International Union of Crystallography (IUCr). - 1600-5368. ; 58, s. I56-I58
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The redetermined structure of K-2 (UO2)(2)(C2O4)(3).4H(2)O shows significantly improved precision of the positional and displacement parameters. Linear uranyl cations are connected by tetradentate bridging oxalate groups yielding a two-dimensional network. These nets are stacked to form the crystal structure.

  • Theoretical study of the singlet electronically excited states of N-4
  • 2001
  • Ingår i: Chemical Physics Letters. - 0009-2614 .- 1873-4448. ; 340:06-maj, s. 597-603
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Vertical excitation energies for the lowest eleven singlet states of T-d N-4 were calculated using the TD-DFT method with the B3LYP functional, and at the EOM-CCSD level of theory. The vertical excitation energies for the five lowest-lying excited states were also obtained using the state-averaged CASSCF, CASPT2, CASPT3, and MRCI + Q methods. Our results show that the five lowest-lying states are of valence character. EOM-CCSD/d-aug-cc-pVTZ calculations predict that there are two weakly allowed optical transitions of T-2 symmetry at 10.44 and 10.82 eV. The transition to the third T-2 state, which is predicted to be at 10.89 eV, has an oscillator strength about one order of magnitude higher.

  • Evaluation of uncertainty in spectral analysis of surface texture
  • 2023
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • ISO/TC 43/SC 1/WG 39 is a working group under the Acoustics/Noise committee of ISO, working on standardization of the subject “Measurement of pavement surface texture using a profiling method”. The standardization focuses on road surface properties in the texture range, i.e. texture wavelengths under 500 mm. The main topic is to characterize road surface texture by using surface profiles and providing standardized measures for road condition investigations. Such conditions are essential in studies of, for example, noise, rolling resistance and skid resistance properties of pavement surfaces. The spectral analysis is especially used to distinguish different surface properties within the texture wavelength range, for instance high energy for a specific wavelength that could explain a uniformity at the surface. One of the documents developed by WG 39 is ISO/TS 13473-4, Characterization of pavement texture by use of surface profiles — Part 4: Spectral analysis of surface profiles (Part 4 in the following text). This document has been under revision since 2020. The revised version aims to convert Part 4 to an international standard (ISO) from the current format, technical specification (TS). The future ISO describes two ways of doing spectral analysis, one mandatory Method 1 and one informative Method 2.Method 1: constant-percentage bandwidth obtained by digital filtering (main method);Method 2: constant narrow bandwidth frequency analysis by means of Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT), followed by a transformation of the narrow-band spectrum to an octave- or one-third-octave-band spectrum.During this revision of Part 4 there have been significant improvements to the whole document, in almost every step of the calculation. Special attention has been given to the uncertainty analysis and the influence on various input quantities to the texture spectrum. Uncertainty is an important and mandatory part of a standard that estimates the uncertainty magnitude or impact on the result. The studies done to complete the uncertainty chapter of Part 4 have been compiled into this document, and it could be seen as a model of how to work with uncertainties in a standard.

  • The Swift satellite and redshifts of long gamma-ray bursts - (Research Note)
  • 2006
  • Ingår i: Astronomy and Astrophysics. - : EDP Sciences. - 0004-6361 .- 1432-0746. ; 453:3, s. 797-800
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Until 6 October 2005 sixteen redshifts had been measured of long gamma-ray bursts discovered by the Swift satellite. Further 45 redshifts have been measured of the long gamma- ray bursts discovered by other satellites. Here we perform five statistical tests comparing the redshift distributions of these two samples assuming as the null hypothesis an identical distribution for the two samples. Three tests (Student's t-test, Mann-Whitney test, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test) reject the null hypothesis at significance levels between 97.19 and 98.55%. Two different comparisons of the medians show extreme (99.78 - 99.99994)% significance levels of rejection. This means that the redshifts of the Swift sample and the redshifts of the non-Swift sample are distributed differently - in the Swift sample the redshifts are on average larger. This statistical result suggests that the long GRBs should on average be at the higher redshifts of the Swift sample.

  • Comparative exoproteome analyses of Lactobacillus spp. reveals species-and strain-specific proteins involved in their extracellular interaction and probiotic potential
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Lebensmittel-Wissenschaft + Technologie. - : Elsevier. - 0023-6438 .- 1096-1127. ; 93, s. 420-426
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Due to their health-promoting effects, the probiotic applications of lactobacilli have been investigated. Aside from their basic cellular functions, the extracellular activities of probiotic lactobacilli influence their establishment and interaction with the host. Many extracellular proteins play important roles in bacterial colonization and survival in their host's gastrointestinal environment. In this study, we compared the exoproteome of three lactobacillus strains isolated from the gastrointestinal tracts of pigs and chickens, namely, Lactobacillus mucosae LM1, L. johnsonii PF01, and L. johnsonii C1–10. Extracellular proteins collected in the mid-logarithmic growth phase were identified and quantified using a Q Exactive™ Orbitrap mass spectrometer (MS). Of 99 total extracellular proteins, 83% belonged to L. mucosae LM1; L. johnsonii PF01 strains had fewer extracellular proteins. Enolase, which is involved in the glycolysis pathway and has moonlighting functions in the adhesion of probiotic bacteria, was found in the core exoproteomes of the three strains. The most abundant proteins of each strain were phosphoketolase in L. mucosae LM1, aggregation-promoting factor in L. johnsonii PF01, and levansucrase in L. johnsonii C1–10. The observed differences between these three exoproteomes in terms of cellular and molecular function elucidate the extracellular activities of these isolates.
