    • Superconducting multiplexing/demultiplexing arrangements include a number of signal input devices and a number of signal output devices. A number of resonators provides a number of filters. Each filter represents a channel. The resonator(s) operate(s) devices at lest in dual mode, and tuning devices are provided so that at least some of the resonators is/are tuneable. A method is provided of multiplexing signals incoming to a multiplexing arrangement with a number of resonators, each of the resonators having a number of input ports which are so arranged that a number of mulitpole filters are created. Input signals having different frequencies are supplied to the different input ports of the resonators, each of which is operated in three modes. Coupling devices are arranged which at least comprise the angle between the input ports and a symmetry plane. The angles are non-perpendicularly azimuth. Tuning devices are further provided for tuning the resonant frequencies of the degenerate modes, and the coupling angles and tuning devices are controlled so that for a number of input signals, only input signal is transmitted to the output devices.

    • A modified polymer as result of a bulk functionalization of polyamide 46 (PA 46) is presented, as well as methods for synthesizing the modified polymer. This functionalization of PA 46 is performed to provide a homogenous semi-permeable polyamide 46 capable of different charges and different porosities with particles of nanoscale size in order to replace or improve other polyamide fibers used in the textile industry, filtering processes, selective sorption, controlled release devices, phase transfer catalysts, chromatography media, biocompatible capsules, artificial skins, organs, bone void repair as well as in cell bioreactors and incubators, dental impliments, medical devices, clothing, detectors, perfusion devices, in regenerative medicine, and fuel cells.

    • A waveguide structure for evanescent wave microscopy and/or spectroscopy, comprising an optically transparent core layer, a lower dielectric cladding layer and an upper dielectric cladding layer arranged on opposite sides of the core layer. The core layer has a refractive index higher than the refractive indices of the cladding layers. The upper cladding layer is made of an organic material. A sample well is arranged on an upper surface of the core layer formed by a cavity in the upper cladding layer, the sample well being adapted to contain a sample medium with one or more sample objects. The core layer is made of a first dielectric inorganic material, and the upper cladding layer has a refractive index which closely matches the refractive index of the sample medium. A method for manufacturing such waveguide structure, and a measurement system comprising the waveguide structure are also disclosed.

    • A device is provided for generating temporally offset , spa tially modulated illumination regions (22 , 22 ') having peri odic modulation patterns that are phase - shifted with respect to one another . The device has two pulsed laser sources (121 , 122) that are triggerable in a manner temporally offset with respect to one another and that generate two laser beams pulsed in a temporally offset manner . Intensity modulators (16) are provided for spatially periodic intensity modulation of the laser beams perpendicular to the direction of propa gation thereof . A beam superimposing device (126) com bines the beam paths of the laser beams in a common beam path section and a beam shaper (20 , 20 ') shapes the illumi nation region shaping. The common beam path section is configured so that the laser beams combined by the beam superimposing device (126) are polarized differently and the intensity modulators are upstream of an optically anisotropic beam splitter (18).

    • Disclosed is a method of simulating dynamic fluids comprising a set of pseudo particles usedto represent physical quantities of the fluid, a fluid density computed from a weightedaverage over the pseudo particle, and a density constraint on the fluid density constraining itto be incompressible with the reference density of a real physical fluid that is modeled. Theconstraint stabilization forces of the density constraint govern the dynamics of the pseudoparticles and the simulated fluid. The method comprises a combined time stepping andconstraint stabilization and relaxation method that provides global conservation of physicalsymmetries and therefore robust physical and numerical stability under large constraintviolation, and substantial improvement in efficiency over other known methods.
