- The article is based on a lecture performance titled “Archipelagic Rehearsals – Abstract as Score” that was presented at the RGS-IBG conference, held jointly by the Royal Geographical Society and the Institute of British Geographers, in Cardiff in 2018. The presentation was an exploration of a possibility to practice, in Édouard Glissant’s terms, “archipelagic thinking” by presenting a lecture with interaction from the audience, as a lecture performance. That “archipelagic experiment” is continued in the article through an attempt to format the performance as an academic text. In turn, the text is an attempt to create new imaginaries and storytelling with Spanish slugs through participatory artistic experimental practice. The writing as artistic practice offers the potential for becoming and as such it is unpredictable in its outcome. The article starts with the author’s framing of Glissant’s poetics and attempts a feminist and more-than-human approach to present the event – the performance of the lecture and the story of the slug in footnotes that were an integral part of the lecture.

Installationen använde Augmented Reality teknik i kombination med video, soundscape/sång och utställningsgestaltning. Innehållet behandlar upplevelsen av en uppenbarelse samt två kvinnoöden med diametralt olika utgång, klosterorden och sinnessjukhus. Nominerad till priset "best interactive project" vid NODEM 2004 (Nordic digitalexcellence for museums, V4M/ Interactive institute)

- Ljus, bilder och mörker är inte bara en fråga om energi och belysning, utan som konstnär intresserar jag mig framförallt hur själva perceptionen av mörker och ljus förändrats, och dessa begrepps växlande symboliska och psykologiska innebörd och idémässiga kontext.”Att belysa mörkret” visades genom guidade turer i en bergtunnel under Stockholms trafikerade gator och pulserande storstadsmiljö till en underjord där mörkret ännu dröjt sig kvar.I Tunneln presenterades ljusinstallationer med extremt låga ljusnivåer med stråk av totalt mörker. Genom de guidade turerna gavs besökaren möjlighet att erfara och reflektera över så vardagliga fenomen som seende, adaption, relationen mellan kropp och rum, självuppfattning, sociala koder och samspel,Som en del av projektet släcktes även gatubelysningen ner på en gata i centrala Stockholm. Stadsrummet användes i projektet som ett slags laboratorium för konstnärliga experiment och metoder för att väcka frågor kring synen på skugga, mörker och överbelysning i en storstadskontext.Ett konstprojekt om att förhålla sig till ovisshet och det vi redan trodde vi visste, ett projekt om mörker och mörka zoner i en storstadskontext.

Två forskare och två konstnärer, en fotograf och en essäist medverkar. Verk och texter skapades inom projektet Konst genom staden vars syfte var att utveckla konstnärlig forskning som på olika sätt engagerar sig i staden som rum. Deep Learning With DAGs

- Social science theories often postulate causal relationships among a set of variables or events. Although directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) are increasingly used to represent these theories, their full potential has not yet been realized in practice. As non-parametric causal models, DAGs require no assumptions about the functional form of the hypothesized relationships. Nevertheless, to simplify the task of empirical evaluation, researchers tend to invoke such assumptions anyway, even though they are typically arbitrary and do not reflect any theoretical content or prior knowledge. Moreover, functional form assumptions can engender bias, whenever they fail to accurately capture the complexity of the causal system under investigation. In this article, we introduce causal-graphical normalizing flows (cGNFs), a novel approach to causal inference that leverages deep neural networks to empirically evaluate theories represented as DAGs. Unlike conventional approaches, cGNFs model the full joint distribution of the data according to a DAG supplied by the analyst, without relying on stringent assumptions about functional form. In this way, the method allows for flexible, semi-parametric estimation of any causal estimand that can be identified from the DAG, including total effects, conditional effects, direct and indirect effects, and path-specific effects. We illustrate the method with a reanalysis of Blau and Duncan’s (1967) model of status attainment and Zhou’s (2019) model of conditional versus controlled mobility. To facilitate adoption, we provide open-source software together with a series of online tutorials for implementing cGNFs. The article concludes with a discussion of current limitations and directions for future development.

Till boken har ett antal personer bjudits in att reflektera kring de tematiker projektet tangerar.

- A commonplace idea, and worry, in much political art is the emphasis on how not to victimize the object/subject in artistic strategies, and the importance of portraying people as subjects with agency. The way to do this is it is often suggestedm is to allow for identification. This article asks if this strong idea might be shaped by an ameliorating guilt about victims, which in turn is partially informed by an inability to free the gaze from a hegemonic view of people as agents. Instead, the article looks at some contemporary artists who open for an opposite recognition, the radical lack of power for large groups within the global migration system, without attempts at temporary symbolic solutions. It will be argued that the recognition of powerlessness is and has always been a ground for political as well as artistic representation, mobilisation and solidarity.

- Coffee cup reading is a popular social activity in some cultures and seen as a playful way of speculating on a person's past, present and future life. If we think of coffee cup reading as a way to envision futures, can we use this practice as a method for creating speculative design fictions? This paper proposes a workshop in which 10 people living in Venice will enact future inhabitants of the city and read each other's coffee cup in pairs to create speculative design fictions that envision Venice in 2030. The workshop will result in a catalogue of design fictions comprising text and drawings produced by each pair that will present different future visions for Venice. After the exhibition, this catalogue will be exhibited in a dedicated online space to present the design fictions and photos and/or videos created during the workshop as well as visitors' feedback. The workshop aims to provide insights about how coffee cup reading as a traditional way of looking into possible futures could be used as a low-threshold design activity to reveal urban inhabitants’ visions and concerns towards uncertain futures as well as today's challenges.
