  • Guidelines for Preparing Organisations in Developing Countries for Standards-based B2B
  • 2008
  • Ingår i: Emerging Markets and E-Commerce in Developing Economies. - : IGI Global. - 9781605661001 - 1605661007 - 9781605661018 - 1605661015 - 9781616926250 ; , s. 271-292
  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • B2B development has been faster in the developed world comparing to developing countries. This chapter proposes a “tool” for managing CSF in B2B settings. The tool is in the form of guidelines, which are concrete and detailed, and which enable a more clear view of actions needed during the preparation stage of B2B projects. We argue that developing countries seldom have the luxury of affording failure in new B2B ventures, but that they instead must learn from the mistakes already made by the developed countries. Thus, our proposed guidelines are based on an existing framework and experiences made in the developed countries. The guidelines are furthermore discussed with regard to the specific problems and conditions that developing countries face. Much work still remains, and problems still must be resolved. From a global perspective, this is important for all of us!

  • Digital Transformation as a Means of Achieving SME Resilience During COVID-19 – A Systematic Review and Future Research Agenda
  • 2024. - 1
  • Ingår i: Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) Resilience. - : Springer Nature. - 9783031508356 - 9783031508387 - 9783031508363 ; , s. 17-32
  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Covid-19 pandemic had devastating effects on small and medium businesses (SME). The immediate shock, uncertainty, varying restrictions, and the risk to life disoriented the small and medium industries. In the last 4–5 years, we’ve seen small and medium businesses worldwide gradually return to their former state. Digital transformation is one of the tools used in this comeback effort. This topic has been the subject of several conceptual, empirical, and review studies. However, no systematic review has been conducted that examines digital transformation enablers and how digital transformation can lead to organizational resilience. This study aims to fill the gap. I conducted this systematic review following the PRISMA guidelines. On the basis of the 37 studies that met the inclusion criteria, I identified two clusters of enablers (strategic orientations, capabilities, and capacities) as well as six mediating strategies (frugal innovation, organizational agility, strategic agile process, dynamic strategic planning, social entrepreneurship and competitive intelligence, and sustainable business processes) of digital transformation on SME resilience. A consolidated conceptual model was developed based on the findings of this review. Scholars will be able to use these results to understand the knowledge boundary and develop effective strategies for promoting the resilience of SME’s.

  • Social Networks and Recommendation Systems : A World of Current and Future Synergies
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: Computational Social Network. - London : Springer London. - 9781447140481 - 9781447140474 ; , s. 445-465
  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Recently, there has been a significant growth in the science of networks, as well as a big boom in social networking sites (SNS), which has arguably had a great impact on multiple aspects of everyday life. Since the beginnings of the World Wide Web, another fast-growing field has been that of recommender systems (RS), which has furthermore had a proven record of immediate financial importance, given that a well-targeted online recommendation often translates into an actual purchase. Although in their beginnings, both SNSs as well as RSs had largely separate paths as well as communities of researchers dealing with them, recently the almost immediate synergies arising from bringing the two together have started to become apparent in a number of real-world systems. However, this is just the beginning; multiple potentially beneficial mutual synergies remain to be explored. In this chapter, after introducing the two fields, we will provide a survey of their existing interaction, as well as a forward-looking view on their potential future.

  • User Experience of Socially Interactive Robots : Its Role and Relevance
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Handbook of Research on Synthesizing Human Emotion in Intelligent Systems and Robotics. - Hershey, Pennsylvania, USA : IGI Global. - 9781466672789 - 1466672781 - 9781466672796 ; , s. 352-364
  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Socially interactive robots are expected to have an increasing importance in everyday life for a growing number of people, but negative user experience (UX) can entail reluctance to use robots. Positive user experience underpins proliferation of socially interactive robots. Therefore, it is essential for robot developers to put serious efforts to attain social robots that the users experience as positive. In current human-robot interaction (HRI) research, user experience is reckoned to be important and is used as an argument for stating that something is positive. However, the notion of user experience is noticeably often taken for granted and is neither described nor problematized. By recognizing the complexity of user experience the intended contributions can be even more valuable. Another trend in HRI research is to focus on user experience evaluation and examination of user experience. The current research paths of user experience of socially interactive robots are not enough. This chapter suggests that additional research directions are needed in order accomplish long-term, wide-spread success of socially interactive robots.
