  • The effects of interprofessional education - Self-reported professional competence among prehospital emergency care nursing students on the point of graduation - A cross-sectional study
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: International Emergency Nursing. - : Elsevier BV. - 1755-599X .- 1878-013X. ; 32, s. 50-55
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The aim of the study was to investigate whether interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional collaboration (IPC) during the educational program had an impact on prehospital emergency care nurses' (PECN) self-reported competence towards the end of the study program. A cross-sectional study using the Nurse Professional Competence (NPC) Scale was conducted. A comparison was made between PECN students from Finland who experienced IPE and IPC in the clinical setting, and PECN students from Sweden with no IPE and a low level of IPC. Forty-one students participated (Finnish n=19, Swedish n=22). The self-reported competence was higher among the Swedish students. A statistically significant difference was found in one competence area; legislation in nursing and safety planning (p<0.01). The Finnish students scored significantly higher on items related to interprofessional teamwork. Both the Swedish and Finnish students' self-reported professional competence was relatively low according to the NPC Scale. Increasing IPC and IPE in combination with offering a higher academic degree may be an option when developing the ambulance service and the study program for PECNs.

  • Visibility conditions and diel period affect small-scale spatio-temporal behaviour of pike Esox lucius in the absence of prey and conspecifics
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: Journal of Fish Biology. - : Wiley. - 0022-1112 .- 1095-8649. ; 80:6, s. 2384-2389
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Pike Esox lucius in the absence of prey and conspecifics were shown to have the highest habitat-change activity during dusk and to decrease preference for complex habitats in turbid water. As the behaviours indicate routine responses in the absence of behavioural interactions, E. lucius spatio-temporal distributions should be directly affected and thereby more easily assessed and avoided by prey, with potential consequences for encounter rates.

  • Development of Activities - Standard Application Packages according SIV to help you make better use of standard application packages in your organization : Verksamhetsutveckling - Standardsystem enligt SIV för att du skall kunna utnyttja standardsystem bättre i din verksamhet
  • 1986
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The report is published in an English and Swedish version.Rapporten finns utgiven på svenska och engelska. ------------------------------------------------There is a need for a systematic way of working when planning for standard application packages in organizations. We have tried to develop a method for this field - the SIV method (Standard Application Packages in Organizations, in Swedish: Standardsystem I Verksamheter). The SIV method takes the customer's situation as a starting point - a customer view. Furthermore, occasions have been described where a dialogue between the customer and the vendor is necessary, e.g. demonstrations and negotiations. The SIV method gives a survey of the field with emphasis on adaptation of activities and standard application packages to each other. This report is focusing on "adaptation" of standard application packages.

  • Verksamhetsutveckling - Att anpassa standardsystem
  • 1983
  • Bok (refereegranskat)abstract

  • Oral health and dental care of older persons-A systematic map of systematic reviews
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Gerodontology. - : Wiley. - 0734-0664 .- 1741-2358. ; 35:4, s. 290-304
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Objectives: To examine the current knowledge on oral health status and dental care of older persons through a systematic mapping of systematic reviews of low or moderate risk of bias. Background: Geriatric dentistry covers all aspects of oral health and oral care of older persons. Oral health is part of general health and contributes to a person's physical, psychological and social wellbeing. Methods: A literature search was performed in three different databases (PubMed, The Cochrane Library and Cinahl) within 12 domains: Dental caries, periodontitis, Orofacial pain and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain, mucosal lesions, oral motor function, dry mouth, halitosis, interaction between oral status and other medical conditions, ability to interrelate and communicate, quality of life, ethics and organisation of dental care for older persons. Systematic reviews were identified and scrutinised, highlighting scientific knowledge and knowledge gaps. Results: We included 32 systematic reviews of which 14 were judged to be of low/moderate risk of bias. Most of the domains lack systematic reviews with low or moderate risk of bias. In two of the domains evidence was identified; in institutionalised people aged 65 or older, effective oral hygiene can prevent pneumonia. Furthermore, there is an evidence of a relationship between malnutrition (protein energy-related malnutrition, PEM) and poor appetite and edentulousness. Conclusions: There is an urgent need for further research and evidence-based knowledge within most domains in geriatric dentistry and in other fields related to oral health and dental care for older persons striving for multi-disciplinary research programmes.

  • Vertical phase separation in spin-coated films of a low bandgap polyfluorene/PCBM blend - Effects of specific substrate interaction
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: Applied Surface Science. - Amsterdam : Elsevier BV. - 0169-4332 .- 1873-5584. ; 253:8, s. 3906-3912
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We report on the effect of the substrate on the vertical phase separation in spin-coated thin films of poly [(9,9-dioctylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl)-co-5,5-4',7'-di-2-thienyl-2',1',3'-benz othiadiazole] (APFO-3) blended with [6,6]-phenyl-C-61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM). Compositional depth profiles of the films are measured by dynamic secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS). We found that changing the substrate from silicon to gold affects the composition profile near the substrate interface. This is caused by a specific interaction between the polymer (APFO-3) and the gold surface, as confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The composition profile in the area away from the substrate interface, as well as the enrichment of the free surface with APFO-3, remain however unaffected by the choice of substrate. The vertical composition was also analysed for APFO-3:PCBM films spin-coated on indium tin oxide (ITO) coated with a thin layer of (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS). • Influence of solvents and substrates on the morphology and the performance of low-bandgap polyfluorene:PCBM photovoltaic devices
  • 2006
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of SPIE, the International Society for Optical Engineering. - Cardiff : SPIE - International Society for Optical Engineering. - 0277-786X .- 1996-756X. ; 6192, s. 61921X-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Spin-coated thin films of poly[(9,9-dioctylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl)-co-5,5-(4',7'-di-2-thienyl-2',1',3'-benzothiadiazole)] (APFO-3) blended with [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) are used as the active material in polymer photovoltaic cells. Such blends are known for their tendency to phase separate during film formation. Tuning the morphology of the blend in a controlled way is one possible road towards higher efficiency. We studied the effect of adding chlorobenzene to chloroform-based blend solutions before spin-coating on the conversion efficiency of APFO-3:PCBM photodiodes, and related that to the lateral and vertical morphology of thin films of the blend. The lateral morphology is imaged by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and the vertical compositional profile is obtained by dynamic secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS). The profiles reveal compositional variations consisting of multilayers of alternating polymer-rich and PCBM-rich domains in the blend film spin-coated from chloroform. The vertical compositional variations are caused by surface-directed spinodal waves and are frozen in during the rapid evaporation of a highly volatile solvent. With addition of the low-vapour pressure solvent chlorobenzene, a more homogeneous vertical composition is found. The conversion efficiency for solar cells of this blend was found to be optimal for chloroform:chlorobenzene mixtures with a volume-ratio of 80:1. We have also investigated the role of the substrate on the morphology. We found that blend films spin-coated from chloroform solutions on PEDOT:PSS-coated ITO show a similar compositional structure as the films on silicon, and that changing the substrate from silicon to gold only affects the vertical phase separation in a region close to the substrate interface
