  • Symposium in memory of Professor Inga Marie Nilsson
  • 2001
  • Ingår i: Haemophilia. - : Wiley. - 1351-8216. ; 7:4, s. 401-410
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Professor Inga Marie Nilsson (1923-99) was a pioneer in the field of bleeding and thrombo-embolic disorders and made several major scientific contributions during her career. To honour her memory, colleagues from all over the world were invited to cover several aspects of haemostasis by giving state-of-the-art lectures at an international symposium in Malmö on September 22-23, 2000, chaired by Professors Lou Aledort and Erik Berntorp. Colleagues of Professor Nilsson in Malmö gave a short introduction to each topic. A short review of the meeting will be presented.

  • Development of dosimetric procedures for experimental ultra-high dose rate irradiation at a clinical linear accelerator
  • 2022. - 1
  • Ingår i: Journal of Physics: Conference Series. - : IOP Publishing. - 1742-6588 .- 1742-6596. ; 2167
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • As radiotherapy using ultra-high dose rates has gained new interest, the dosimetric challenges arising at these conditions needs to be addressed. Ionization chambers suffer from a large decrease in ion collection efficiency due to ion recombination, making on-line dosimetry difficult. In this work we present experimental setups and dosimetric procedures for FLASH irradiation of cells, zebrafish embryos and small animals using a 10 MeV electron beam at a modified clinical linear accelerator, and describe the dosimetric steps required to initiate clinical trials. The dosimetric equipment used for our pre-clinical experiments consisted of radiochromic film, thermoluminescent dosimeters, a Farmer-type ionization chamber and phantom material mimicking the experimental setup for irradiation. In preparation for small animal irradiation, dose profiles and depth dose curves were measured for all collimator sizes. The average dose rates were ≥620 Gy/s, ≥640 Gy/s and ≥400 Gy/s for cells, zebrafish embryos and small animals, respectively.

  • Measurement of hydrogen plasma parameters of the combined ECR+RF discharge in the TOMAS facility
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: 24TH TOPICAL CONFERENCE ON RADIO-FREQUENCY POWER IN PLASMAS. - : AIP Publishing.
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The plasma electron density and temperature were measured in hydrogen electron-cyclotron resonance (ECR) plasma and combined ECR + radio-frequency (RF) discharges in the TOMAS facility. The results of ECR and combined ECR+RF discharges studies are compared. With an addition of RF, it is possible to vary the plasma parameters around the values provided by the ECR discharge. The propagation of slow (SW) and fast (FW) waves in hydrogen plasma is analyzed. Depending on the plasma density and the parallel component of the wave vector three cases are possible: SW propagation only, SW and FW simultaneous propagation, and FW propagation only.
