    • We discuss the angular momentum blockade in small d-wave superconducting grains in an external field. We find that abrupt changes in the angular momentum state of the condensate, angular momentum blockade, occur as a result of changes in the angular momentum of the condensate in an external magnetic field. The effect represents a direct analogy with the Coulomb blockade. We use the Ginzburg-Landau formalism to illustrate how a magnetic field induces a deviation from the d-wave symmetry which is described by a (d(x2-y2)+id(xy))-order parameter. We derive the behavior of the volume magnetic susceptibility as a function of the magnetic field, and corresponding magnetization jumps at critical values of the field that should be experimentally observable in superconducting grains.

    • More than 80% of Fortune 1000 has adopted eprocurement and e-Sourcing technologies according to Abeerdeen Group. Focus has been on integration and automation of the extended sourcing lifecycle. The technology associated with Internet has increased the possibilities to do e-business, ecommerce, and e-procurement. [1] This paper describes and discusses the evolution and created benefits at Ericsson, the Swedish telecom company. A proposed new approach to discuss the procurement context, based on what to buy and how to do it, is also presented together with Swedish government cases. Tools in the presented cases have had a great effect on e-business and eprocurement processes and a lot of benefits have been created.

    • We herein outline the rationale for a Swedish cohort consortium, aiming to facilitate greater use of Swedish cohorts for world-class research. Coordination of all Swedish prospective population-based cohorts in a common infrastructure would enable more precise research findings and facilitate research on rare exposures and outcomes, leading to better utilization of study participants' data, better return of funders' investments, and higher benefit to patients and populations. We motivate the proposed infrastructure partly by lessons learned from a pilot study encompassing data from 21 cohorts. We envisage a standing Swedish cohort consortium that would drive development of epidemiological research methods and strengthen the Swedish as well as international epidemiological competence, community, and competitiveness.
