  • Crystal electric field splitting and f -electron hybridization in heavy-fermion CePt2In7
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Physical Review B. - : AMER PHYSICAL SOC. - 2469-9969 .- 2469-9950. ; 100:8
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We use high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy to investigate the electronic structure of the antiferromagnetic heavy fermion compound CePt2In7, which is a member of the CeIn3-derived heavy fermion material family. Weak hybridization among 4f electron states and conduction bands was identified in CePt2In7 at low temperature much weaker than that in the other heavy fermion compounds like CeIrIn5 and CeRhIn5. The Ce 4f spectrum shows fine structures near the Fermi energy, reflecting the crystal electric field splitting of the 4f5/21 and 4f7/21 states. Also, we find that the Fermi surface has a strongly three-dimensional topology, in agreement with density-functional theory calculations.  © 2019 American Physical Society.

  • The 4f-Hybridization Strength in CemMnIn3m+2n Heavy-Fermion Compounds Studied by Angle-Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Chinese Physics Letters. - : IOP Publishing. - 0256-307X .- 1741-3540. ; 38:10
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We systemically investigate the nature of Ce 4f electrons in structurally layered heavy-fermion compounds CemMnIn3m+2n (with M = Co, Rh, Jr, and Pt, m = 1, 2, n = 0-2), at low temperature using on-resonance angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. Three heavy quasiparticle bands f(0), f(7/2)(1) and f(5/2)(1), are observed in all compounds, whereas their intensities and energy locations vary greatly with materials. The strong f(0) states imply that the localized electron behavior dominates the Ce 4f states. The Ce 4f electrons are partially hybridized with the conduction electrons, making them have the dual nature of localization and itinerancy. Our quantitative comparison reveals that the f(5/2)(1)-f (0) intensity ratio is more suitable to reflect the 4f-state hybridization strength.

  • Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy view on the nature of Ce 4f electrons in the antiferromagnetic Kondo lattice CePd5Al2
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Physical Review B. - : American Physical Society (APS). - 2469-9969 .- 2469-9950. ; 103:12
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We report an angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy study of the antiferromagnetic Kondo lattice CePd5Al2, focusing on the quasi-two-dimensional k-space nature of its Fermi surface and, tuning photon energy to the Ce 4d-4f on-resonance transition, the hybridization of the Ce 4f state. A strong shoulder feature on the f0 peak was detected, suggesting hybridization between conduction and f bands. On-resonance spectra revealed narrow, yet hybridized quasiparticle bands with sharp peaks and ∼ 9 meV energy dispersion near the Fermi energy EF. The observed dispersive hybridized f band can be well described by a hybridization-band picture based on the periodic Anderson model (PAM). Hence, the 4f electrons in CePd5Al2 display a dual nature, with both localized and itinerant features, but with dominantly localized character.

  • GPUMD: A package for constructing accurate machine-learned potentials and performing highly efficient atomistic simulations
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Journal of Chemical Physics. - : AIP Publishing. - 1089-7690 .- 0021-9606. ; 157:11
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We present our latest advancements of machine-learned potentials (MLPs) based on the neuroevolution potential (NEP) framework introduced in Fan et al. [Phys. Rev. B 104, 104309 (2021)] and their implementation in the open-source package gpumd. We increase the accuracy of NEP models both by improving the radial functions in the atomic-environment descriptor using a linear combination of Chebyshev basis functions and by extending the angular descriptor with some four-body and five-body contributions as in the atomic cluster expansion approach. We also detail our efficient implementation of the NEP approach in graphics processing units as well as our workflow for the construction of NEP models and demonstrate their application in large-scale atomistic simulations. By comparing to state-of-the-art MLPs, we show that the NEP approach not only achieves above-average accuracy but also is far more computationally efficient. These results demonstrate that the gpumd package is a promising tool for solving challenging problems requiring highly accurate, large-scale atomistic simulations. To enable the construction of MLPs using a minimal training set, we propose an active-learning scheme based on the latent space of a pre-trained NEP model. Finally, we introduce three separate Python packages, viz., gpyumd, calorine, and pynep, that enable the integration of gpumd into Python workflows.

  • Graphene and Beyond: Recent Advances in Two-Dimensional Materials Synthesis, Properties, and Devices
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: ACS Nanoscience Au. - : American Chemical Society (ACS). - 2694-2496. ; 2:6, s. 450-485
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Since the isolation of graphene in 2004, two-dimensional (2D) materials research has rapidly evolved into an entire subdiscipline in the physical sciences with a wide range of emergent applications. The unique 2D structure offers an open canvas to tailor and functionalize 2D materials through layer number, defects, morphology, moiré pattern, strain, and other control knobs. Through this review, we aim to highlight the most recent discoveries in the following topics: theory-guided synthesis for enhanced control of 2D morphologies, quality, yield, as well as insights toward novel 2D materials; defect engineering to control and understand the role of various defects, including in situ and ex situ methods; and properties and applications that are related to moiré engineering, strain engineering, and artificial intelligence. Finally, we also provide our perspective on the challenges and opportunities in this fascinating field.

  • Dynamic Programming-Based Optimal Charging Scheduling for Electric Vehicles
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: 2022 IEEE 7th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Engineering, ICITE 2022. ; , s. 545-550
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The charging scheduling of electric vehicles not only affects the operation of the grid system, but also affects the charging cost of vehicle users. This paper studies the charging scheduling problem of electric vehicles from the user's perspective by considering the grid's as well as the user's needs. On the basis of real-time electricity prices, an electric vehicle charging scheduling system aiming at the lowest charging cost is designed and an optimal charging scheduling method based on dynamic programming is established. In order to reduce the unnecessary computational expenses, this paper optimizes the dynamic programming algorithm, and defines the state transition limit of the dynamic programming search space according to the actual constraints, which reduces the computational complexity. The simulation results show that, on the premise of satisfying the power constraints and user charging demands, the electric vehicles charging scheduling system can effectively reduce the charging cost and time. In addition, the charging process has little impact on the power system from the perspective of grid fluctuation.

  • Personalized microbial fingerprint associated with differential glycemic effects of a whole grain rye intervention on Chinese adults
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: Molecular Nutrition & Food Research. - : John Wiley & Sons. - 1613-4125 .- 1613-4133.
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Scope: This study aims to identify the gut enterotypes that explain differential responses to intervention with whole grain rye by proposing an “enterotype - metabolic” model. Methods and results: A 12-week randomized controlled trial is conducted in Chinese adults, with 79 subjects consuming whole grain products with fermented rye bran (FRB) and 77 consuming refined wheat products in this exploratory post-hoc analysis. Responders or non-responders are identified according to whether blood glucose decreased by more than 10% after rye intervention. Compared to non-responders, responders in FRB have higher baseline Bacteroides (p < 0.001), associated with reduced blood glucose (p < 0.001), increased Faecalibacterium (p = 0.020) and Erysipelotrichaceae_UCG.003 (p = 0.022), as well as deceased 7β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (p = 0.033) after intervention. The differentiated gut microbiota and metabolites between responders and non-responders after intervention are enriched in aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis. Conclusion: The work confirms the previously suggested importance of microbial enterotypes in differential responses to whole grain interventions and supports taking enterotypes into consideration for improved efficacy of whole grain intervention for preventing type 2 diabetes. Altered short-chain fatty acids and bile acid metabolism might be a potential mediator for the beneficial effects of whole grain rye on glucose metabolism.

  • Epoxy composite with high thermal conductivity by constructing 3D-oriented carbon fiber and BN network structure
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: RSC Advances. - : Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). - 2046-2069. ; 11:41, s. 25422-25430
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • As electronic devices tend to be integrated and high-powered, thermal conductivity is regarded as the crucial parameter of electronic components, which has become the main factor that limits the operating speed and service lifetime of electronic devices. However, constructing continuous thermal conductive paths for low content particle fillers and reducing interface thermal resistance between fillers and matrix are still two challenging issues for the preparation of thermally conductive composites. In this study, 3D-oriented carbon fiber (CF) thermal network structures filled with boron nitride flakes (BN) as thermal conductive bridges were successfully constructed. The epoxy composite was fabricated by thermal conductive material with a 3D oriented structure by the vacuum liquid impregnation method. This special 3D-oriented structure modified by BN (BN/CF) could efficiently broaden the heat conduction pathway and connected adjacent fibers, which leads to the reduction of thermal resistance. The thermal conductivity of the boron nitride/carbon fiber/epoxy resin composite (BN/CF/EP) with 5 vol% 10 mm CF and 40 vol% BN reaches up to 3.1 W m(-1) K-1, and its conductivity is only 2.5 x 10(-4) S cm(-1). This facile and high-efficient method could provide some useful advice for the thermal management material in the microelectronic field and aerospace industry.
