  • Results of the Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative 2022
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: CEUR Workshop Proceedings. - : CEUR-WS. ; , s. 84-128, s. 84-128
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative (OAEI) aims at comparing ontology matching systems on precisely defined test cases. These test cases can be based on ontologies of different levels of complexity and use different evaluation modalities. The OAEI 2022 campaign offered 14 tracks and was attended by 18 participants. This paper is an overall presentation of that campaign. © 2022 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

  • Dynamic Programming-Based Optimal Charging Scheduling for Electric Vehicles
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: 2022 IEEE 7th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Engineering, ICITE 2022. ; , s. 545-550
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The charging scheduling of electric vehicles not only affects the operation of the grid system, but also affects the charging cost of vehicle users. This paper studies the charging scheduling problem of electric vehicles from the user's perspective by considering the grid's as well as the user's needs. On the basis of real-time electricity prices, an electric vehicle charging scheduling system aiming at the lowest charging cost is designed and an optimal charging scheduling method based on dynamic programming is established. In order to reduce the unnecessary computational expenses, this paper optimizes the dynamic programming algorithm, and defines the state transition limit of the dynamic programming search space according to the actual constraints, which reduces the computational complexity. The simulation results show that, on the premise of satisfying the power constraints and user charging demands, the electric vehicles charging scheduling system can effectively reduce the charging cost and time. In addition, the charging process has little impact on the power system from the perspective of grid fluctuation.

  • Conceptualizing Data Needs within Contexts of Data Discoverability and Reuse : A Study of Environmental and Social Scientists
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: IST23 Conference. - : Association for Information Science & Technology.
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This study contributes to the conference theme of information science processes and practices by examining the research data discovery contexts of ecological and social scientists who reuse datasets for research. The aim of the research was to gain insight into the data discovery contexts of these scientists and to understand the data needs related to data discoverability and reuse. The study identified four dimensions of data needs, including research processes, making sense of data, data reuse, and data access. Additionally, a conceptualization of data needs within the context of data reuse was proposed, which has not been thoroughly examined in previous studies. The study employed a mixed-method approach within the post-positivist research paradigm to identify the different contexts in which data is discovered. A combination of survey and in-depth interview techniques were used to investigate the broader contexts of data discovery in people’s information-seeking processes. The critical incident technique was used to elicit the contexts of data discovery, and the interview protocol was structured based on the stages of a data lifecycle. Interviews were conducted with 24 participants from three organizations, including TERN, ADA, and CSIRO. Participants held diverse job roles and were at different career stages. The study identified four dimensions of data needs and examined their relationship with the roles of data managers and end-users. The findings contribute to the existing literature on data needs and emphasize the potential usefulness of research data and the need for paradata. The study also suggests that anticipating the contexts of data reuse involves considering what data users may find useful. Ensuring data quality is crucial for successful data reuse, which involves having access to organizational data expertise, providing data in various formats and platforms, and ensuring sufficient data coverage. Data needs are influenced by the specific research objectives, which in turn affects the criteria for selecting and reusing data. Clear data licensing conditions are crucial to facilitate data reuse.

  • Investigation of Contexts of Data Discovery and Selection Criteria for Clinical Trials Data
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: IST23 Conference. - : Association for Information Science and Technology.
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This study explores the data discovery contexts and selection criteria used by clinical trials researchers to reuse open clinical trials and related health data. The research examines the connections between how researchers initiate personal data journeys and follow managed processes of data selection criteria. A mixed-method approach within the post-positivist research paradigm was adopted. The methods of survey and in-depth interview were used to elicit the contexts of data discovery within the information-seeking processes of 17 purposively sampled participants. Our findings suggest that researchers use a diverse set of selection criteria to assess the relevance and usability of datasets depending on the search contexts. We identified shared data attributes, and the information considered most important in properly selecting or using a dataset. We have examined the relationships between different contexts of data discovery and their respective selection criteria. Our findings show that it is crucial to prioritize the information needs of users when selecting and using datasets. Data repositories need to specify their system design objectives in line with meeting user information needs. This could be achieved by enhancing the index and search interface with data variables, such as clinical metrics of outcome measures and methods, thereby making it easier for users to select and use datasets that align with their research needs.

  • Supporting open research data practice through data curation and discovery : A global perspective
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of the Association for Information Science and Technology. - : Wiley. - 2373-9231.
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This panel will address the issues associated with the practice and service of open research data curation and discovery from a global perspective. The sub-fields of information science such as information retrieval, information curation, information practices and human-centered data science have approached the open research data initiatives from multiple lenses. The issues of data creation, capturing, curation, sharing, discovery and reuse of cut across the sub-fields. We will identify and discuss the emerging themes in open data curation and discovery drawing on active research projects, repository practices and research data capturing and reuse in a selection of disciplines from health domain to archaeology and cultural heritage.

  • A 90nm CMOS Digital PLL Based on Vernier-Gated-Ring-Oscillator Time-to-Digital Converter
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: [Host publication title missing]. - 2158-1525 .- 0271-4310. ; , s. 2593-2596
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper presents the design of a digital PLL which uses a high resolution Gated-Ring-Oscillator-Based Vernier Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) for low noise RF application. The TDC uses two gated ring oscillators (GRO) acting as the delay lines in an improved Vernier TDC. The already small quantization noise of the standard Vernier TDC is further first-order shaped by the GRO operation. Additionally, an automatic tuning bank controller selects the active bank of the digitally controlled oscillator (DCO), which features three separate tuning banks. The equivalent in-band phase noise at 2.7GHz is -110dBc/Hz with a reference clock of 25MHz. The digital PLL is simulated in a 90nm CMOS process, indicating a current consumption of 21mA from a 1.2V supply.
