  • The Sixth Visual Object Tracking VOT2018 Challenge Results
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Computer Vision – ECCV 2018 Workshops. - Cham : Springer Publishing Company. - 9783030110086 - 9783030110093 ; , s. 3-53
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Visual Object Tracking challenge VOT2018 is the sixth annual tracker benchmarking activity organized by the VOT initiative. Results of over eighty trackers are presented; many are state-of-the-art trackers published at major computer vision conferences or in journals in the recent years. The evaluation included the standard VOT and other popular methodologies for short-term tracking analysis and a “real-time” experiment simulating a situation where a tracker processes images as if provided by a continuously running sensor. A long-term tracking subchallenge has been introduced to the set of standard VOT sub-challenges. The new subchallenge focuses on long-term tracking properties, namely coping with target disappearance and reappearance. A new dataset has been compiled and a performance evaluation methodology that focuses on long-term tracking capabilities has been adopted. The VOT toolkit has been updated to support both standard short-term and the new long-term tracking subchallenges. Performance of the tested trackers typically by far exceeds standard baselines. The source code for most of the trackers is publicly available from the VOT page. The dataset, the evaluation kit and the results are publicly available at the challenge website (http://votchallenge.net).

  • The Seventh Visual Object Tracking VOT2019 Challenge Results
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: 2019 IEEE/CVF INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER VISION WORKSHOPS (ICCVW). - : IEEE COMPUTER SOC. - 9781728150239 ; , s. 2206-2241
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Visual Object Tracking challenge VOT2019 is the seventh annual tracker benchmarking activity organized by the VOT initiative. Results of 81 trackers are presented; many are state-of-the-art trackers published at major computer vision conferences or in journals in the recent years. The evaluation included the standard VOT and other popular methodologies for short-term tracking analysis as well as the standard VOT methodology for long-term tracking analysis. The VOT2019 challenge was composed of five challenges focusing on different tracking domains: (i) VOT-ST2019 challenge focused on short-term tracking in RGB, (ii) VOT-RT2019 challenge focused on "real-time" short-term tracking in RGB, (iii) VOT-LT2019 focused on long-term tracking namely coping with target disappearance and reappearance. Two new challenges have been introduced: (iv) VOT-RGBT2019 challenge focused on short-term tracking in RGB and thermal imagery and (v) VOT-RGBD2019 challenge focused on long-term tracking in RGB and depth imagery. The VOT-ST2019, VOT-RT2019 and VOT-LT2019 datasets were refreshed while new datasets were introduced for VOT-RGBT2019 and VOT-RGBD2019. The VOT toolkit has been updated to support both standard short-term, long-term tracking and tracking with multi-channel imagery. Performance of the tested trackers typically by far exceeds standard baselines. The source code for most of the trackers is publicly available from the VOT page. The dataset, the evaluation kit and the results are publicly available at the challenge website(1).

  • Delay Optimization in Cooperative Relaying with Cyclic Delay Diversity
  • 2008
  • Ingår i: 2008 IEEE International Conference On Communications, Proceedings. - 9781424420742 ; , s. 3553-3557
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Cooperative relaying has recently been recognized as an alternative to MIMO in a typical multi cellular environment Inserting random delays at the non-regenerative fixed relays, further improve the system performance. However, random delay results in limited performance gain from multipath diversity. In this paper, two promising delay optimization schemes are introduced for a multi cellular OFDM system with cooperative relaying with stationary multiple users and fixed relays. Both of the schemes basically aim to take the most advantages of the potential frequency selectivity by inserting pre-determined delays at the relays, in order to further improve the system performance (coverage and throughput). Evaluation results for different multipath fading environments show that the system performance with delay optimization increases tremendously compared with the case of random delay.

  • HYDROPHILIC-SUPERHYDROPHOBIC PATTERNED SURFACE FOR PARALLEL MICROASSEMBLY
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Technical Digest of the 25th Micromechanics and Microsystems Europe Conference (MME 2014), Istanbul, Turkey, 2014.
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In  this  paper,  a  hydrophilic-superhydrophobic  patterned  surface  is  investigated for parallel microassembly of 200 µm × 200 µm chips with receptor sites of the same dimensions, allowing for correction of significant error as compared to the state-of-the-art.  The  hydrophilic-superhydrophobic pattered surface consists of 200 µm × 200 µm silicondioxide  receptor  sites  with  black  silicon  substrate coated  with  fluorocarbon  polymer.  The  measured contact  angle  of  water  on  the  silicon  dioxide  padsand the background are 50° and 170°, respectively. The  water  mist-induced  hybrid  microassembly technique  is  used  to  carry  out  the  experimental studies  on  hydrophilic-superhydrophobic  pattered surface  for  parallel  microassembly.  The  experimental results show that the parallel microassembly of  chips  can  not  only  be  achieved  on  hydrophilic-superhydrophobic  patterned  surface,  but  also demonstrate  significant  error  correction  capability. With extreme large initial placement error,  where achip  is  placed  next  to  a receptor  site  and  has  zero overlapping  with  the  receptor  site,  the  chip  is  still able to align with the receptor site. The results also indicate  that  the  reliability  of  the  microassembly process  can  be  greatly  enhanced  using  hydrophilic patterns with super-hydrophobic background.

  • Doherty Load Modulation Based on Non-Reciprocity
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: 2021 51st European Microwave Conference, EuMC 2021. ; , s. 938-941
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper presents a new type of Doherty power amplifiers (DPA) based on non-reciprocal power combiners. We replace the conventional quarter-wave (λ/4) impedance inverter in a DPA by a non-reciprocal gyrator. As proof of concept, a DPA using a commercial circulator has been implemented. The prototype PA exhibits a peak output power of 49.1 ± 0.1dBm and efficiency between 57-68% at 6 dB output back-off (OBO) across 2.08 -2.14 GHz. Linearized modulated measurements, using 10MHz LTE signal with 7.8 dB PAPR, show an average output power of 13 W, an average drain efficiency of 54 %, and an adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR) lower than -55 dBc.

  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Smart textiles have been researched in the lab over thelast 20 years. However, the gap between research andavailable mass-market products is huge. We identifychallenges that are the core reasons for this gap. Totackle these challenges, we present our work towards amultipurpose smart textile with dierent sensingmodalities. It separates the concern of developing textiles, electronics, infrastructure, and applications. Furthermore,it uses a similar application model as current smart-phonesallowing developers to create applications for the smarttextiles. We believe that this approach is capable ofmoving smart textiles from niche to mainstream.

  • Categories of touch : Classifying human touch using a soft tactile sensor
  • 2017
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Social touch plays an important role not only in human communication but also in human-robot interaction. We here report results from an ongoing study on affective human-robot interaction. In our previous research, touch type is shown to be informative for communicated emotion. Here, a soft matrix array sensor is used to capture the tactile interaction between human and robot and a method based on PCA and kNN is applied in the experiment to classify different touch types, constituting a pre-stage to recognizing emotional tactile interaction. Results show an average recognition rate for classified touch type of 71%, with a large variability between different types of touch. Results are discussed in relation to affective HRI and social robotics.
