  • A broad range tagging spectrometer for the MAX-laboratory
  • 1997
  • Ingår i: Nuclear Instruments & Methods in Physics Research. Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors, and Associated Equipment. - 0167-5087. ; 388:1-2, s. 17-26
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A broad range tagging spectrometer together with a new beam transport system for photonuclear experiments at the MAX-laboratory in Lund is described. The spectrometer consists of a quadrupole followed by an Elbek-type dipole and has a large momentum acceptance. It can produce both polarized and unpolarized tagged photons in the energy range 10–80 MeV with an energy resolution of about 300 keV.

  • Zipper performance when mixing ADSL and VDSL in terms of reach and capacity
  • 1997
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • In this contribution we have examined how the maximum reach vary at different bit rates on a VDSL system, when different numbers of ADSL and VDSL systems share the same binder. In this context it is concluded that when using the Zipper duplex scheme, VDSL can coexist with ADSL in the same binder without a significant degradation in reach. Further, it is shown that the Zipper duplex scheme secure that ADSL is not disturbed by NEXT from VDSL The Zipper performance has also been compared with both a TDD proposal and a FDD proposal. The results from this comparison shows that Zipper outperforms FDD and TDD in terms of extended reach at all studied mixes of ADSL and VDSL sharing the same binder. For example with a moderate number (5) of ADSL disturbers, the Zipper reach is 150 meters longer than for TDD, and is 350 meters longer than for FDD when studying the medium range asymmetrical bit rate (26:3.2 Mbps).

  • High-resolution measurement of the 12C(γ,p)11B reaction to excited states for Eγ=50–70MeV
  • 1998
  • Ingår i: Physical Review C: covering nuclear physics. - 2469-9985. ; 58:4, s. 2167-2173
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Relative population of states in 11B following the 12C(γ,p) reaction has been measured with high resolution using the deexcitation γ-ray technique. The states near 7 MeV in 11B are clearly resolved and the measured population clarifies earlier conflicting data. Comparison of the results with new calculations indicates the importance of both one-nucleon and multinucleon processes.

  • High-resolution measurement of the ¹⁶O(γ,pn) reaction
  • 1996
  • Doktorsavhandling (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The 16O(gamma,pn) reaction has been measured with a resolution high enough to resolve individual low-lying states in the residual 14N nucleus. The relative population of the states provides detailed information about the quantum numbers of the proton-neutron pairs on which photons are absorbed. Partial cross-sections, available to the acceptance of the detector system, have been extracted for the individual states, and compared to a recent calculation based on absorption on one-pion exchange currents and the Delta-resonance current. The experiment was performed at the Maxlab accelerator laboratory in Lund, Sweden, using tagged photons at an energy of 67-76 MeV. The proton detector angular range was 60-100 degrees and the corresponding number for the neutron detector was 81-103 degrees. A missing-energy resolution of 1.5 MeV was obtained. The relative population of the states in the residual 14N nucleus indicates that the (gamma,pn) reaction takes place predominantly on proton-neutron pairs coupled to (J^pi,T) = (1^+,0), where J is the total angular momentum of the pair, pi is the parity and T is the isospin. The cross-section for absorption on (0^+,1) pairs is strongly suppressed. Furthermore, the relative population of the states indicates that both L=0 and L=2 pairs participate in the reaction, where L is the angular momentum of the center-of-mass of the pair.

  • Integration of thermal-structural analysis in the product development process
  • 1997
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Trends of more team working and cross-functional activities in Integrated Product Development increases the requirements on the computer-aided engineering technology used. Experience of using solid models in a product development project at Volvo Aero is presented. Further, it is described how thermal boundary conditions, calculated using Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations, can be integrated with thermal structural analysis in a commercial Finite Element code. It is argued that incremental technology development using technology based on international standards, e.g., the STEP standard, is a low-risk, highly efficient strategy for improving multi-functional analysis systems.

  • The He(γ,n) reaction: a potential testing ground for the alpha-particle wavefunction
  • 1998
  • Ingår i: Physics Letters B. - 0370-2693. ; 442:1-4, s. 43-47
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Differential cross sections (σ(Eγ,θn)) for the He(γ,n) reaction have been measured at Eγ=50–71 MeV and θn=30–120°. These data are compared with theoretical predictions where a microscopic calculation of the He and He wavefunctions has been made within the Alt-Grassberger-Sandhas, integral-equation formalism.

  • (γ,n) study of the isovector quadrupole resonance in 40Ca
  • 1997
  • Ingår i: Physical Review C: covering nuclear physics. - 2469-9985. ; 55:3, s. 1288-1294
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The forward-to-backward asymmetry of neutrons emitted in the 40Ca(γ,n0) reaction was measured at photon energies in the range of 27–50 MeV. An energy-dependent asymmetry was observed that is interpreted as evidence of interference between the isovector quadrupole resonance and the giant dipole resonance. Data analysis in terms of semiclassical and direct-semidirect models estimate the isovector quadrupole resonance to be at an excitation energy of 31.0±1.5 MeV, with a width of 16.0±1.5 MeV, and exhausting most of the energy-weighted sum rule for the isovector quadrupole resonance.
