  • Research on the reliability and validity of postural workload assessment method and the relation to work-related musculoskeletal disorders of workers
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Beijing da xue xue bao. Yi xue ban= Journal of Peking University. Health Sciences. - 1671-167X. ; 50:3, s. 488-494
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Objective: To form a new assessment method to evaluate postural workload comprehensively analyzing the dynamic and static postural workload for workers during their work process to analyze the reliability and validity, and to study the relation between workers' postural workload and work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs).Methods: In the study, 844 workers from electronic and railway vehicle manufacturing factories were selected as subjects investigated by using the China Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (CMQ) to form the postural workload comprehensive assessment method. The Cronbach's α, cluster analysis and factor analysis were used to assess the reliability and validity of the new assessment method. Non-conditional Logistic regression was used to analyze the relation between workers' postural workload and WMSDs.Results: Reliability of the assessment method for postural workload: internal consistency analysis results showed that Cronbach's α was 0.934 and the results of split-half reliability indicated that Spearman-Brown coefficient was 0.881 and the correlation coefficient between the first part and the second was 0.787. Validity of the assessment method for postural workload: the results of cluster analysis indicated that square Euclidean distance between dynamic and static postural workload assessment in the same part or work posture was the shortest. The results of factor analysis showed that 2 components were extracted and the cumulative percentage of variance achieved 65.604%. The postural workload score of the different occupational workers showed significant difference (P<0.05) by covariance analysis. The results of nonconditional Logistic regression indicated that alcohol intake (OR=2.141, 95%CI 1.337-3.428) and obesity (OR=3.408, 95%CI 1.629-7.130) were risk factors for WMSDs. The risk for WMSDs would rise as workers' postural workload rose (OR=1.035, 95%CI 1.022-1.048). There was significant different risk for WMSDs in the different groups of workers distinguished by work type, gender and age. Female workers exhibited a higher prevalence for WMSDs (OR=2.626, 95%CI 1.414-4.879) and workers between 30-40 years of age (OR=1.909, 95%CI 1.237-2.946) as compared with those under 30.Conclusion: This method for comprehensively assessing postural workload is reliable and effective when used in assembling workers, and there is certain relation between the postural workload and WMSDs.

  • Introduction to the high energy cosmic-radiation detection (HERD) facility onboard China's future space station
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of Science. - : Sissa Medialab Srl.
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The High Energy cosmic-Radiation Detection (HERD) facility is one of several space astronomy payloads onboard China's Space Station, which is planned for operation starting around 2025 for about 10 years. The main scientific objectives of HERD are searching for signals of dark matter annihilation products, precise cosmic electron (plus positron) spectrum and anisotropy measurements up to 10 TeV, precise cosmic ray spectrum and composition measurements up to the knee energy, and high energy gamma-ray monitoring and survey. HERD is composed of a 3-D cubic calorimeter (CALO) surrounded by microstrip silicon trackers (STKs) from five sides except the bottom. CALO is made of about 7,500 cubes of LYSO crystals, corresponding to about 55 radiation lengths and 3 nuclear interaction lengths, respectively. The top STK microstrips of six X-Y layers are sandwiched with tungsten converters to make precise directional measurements of incoming electrons and gamma-rays. In the baseline design, each of the four side STKs is made of only three layers microstrips. All STKs will also be used for measuring the charge and incoming directions of cosmic rays, as well as identifying back scattered tracks. With this design, HERD can achieve the following performance: energy resolution of 1% for electrons and gamma-rays beyond 100 GeV and 20% for protons from 100 GeV to 1 PeV; electron/proton separation power better than 10-5; effective geometrical factors of >3 m2sr for electron and diffuse gamma-rays, >2 m2sr for cosmic ray nuclei. R&D is under way for reading out the LYSO signals with optical fiber coupled to image intensified IsCMOS and CALO prototype of 250 LYSO crystals.

  • Tidal Pumping Controls Dissolved Organic Matter Properties and Outwelling From Mangrove Groundwater to Coastal Water
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Water Resources Research. - : American Geophysical Union (AGU). - 0043-1397 .- 1944-7973. ; 59:3
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Dissolved organic matter (DOM) in highly productive intertidal mangroves is an important carbon and nutrient source to the coastal ocean. In highly dynamic mangrove intertidal systems, both tidal pumping or geochemical factors can control DOM characteristics. The influence of groundwater flow on DOM properties and fluxes remains poorly understood. Here, we compared the concentrations, sources, and spectroscopic characteristics of DOM across a recharge-discharge gradient. We used a three-dimensional array sampling strategy to reduce spatial biases, groundwater monitoring to quantify tidally driven exchange, and spectrofluoroscopy to quantify DOM fluorescent components. The results showed that tidal hydrology played the key role driving groundwater DOM properties in both horizontal (i.e., from the mangrove to the sea) and vertical directions. Due to the high spatial heterogeneity of dissolved inorganic (DIC) and organic (DOC) carbon concentrations in mangrove groundwater, carbon outwelling showed a high degree of variability at the intertidal scale (54.8-234.8 mu mol m(-2) d(-1) for DIC and 2.5-12.4 mu mol m(-2) d(-1) for DOC). The contribution of terrestrial DOM gradually decreased toward the ocean, but the microbial contributions for recently produced autochthonous DOM increased. Deep groundwater received less terrestrial DOM and experienced anaerobic microbial mineralization, resulting in lower organic carbon than shallow groundwater. Greater variations in spectroscopic characteristics were found in shallow groundwater than in deep groundwater. Overall, tidally driven surface water-groundwater interactions control the variability in DOM properties and how DOM contributes to carbon budgets and sequestration in mangrove groundwater.
