  • In: Pravention und Gesundheitsforderung. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1861-6755 .- 1861-6763. ; 10:3, s. 218-221
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • © 2015 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg Background: In the data report 2014, the German Maternal Convalescence Movement (Müttergenesungswerk) identified a possible discrimination against mothers with a low level of education in health convalescent treatment allocation. Objective: The question whether this discrimination is supported by data is investigated. Material and methods: Based on a special analysis of the microcensus (Statistisches Bundesamt), the percentage of the education level of all economically active mothers with a child under the age of 10 years is compared with the corresponding percentages of health convalescent treatment participants. Results: No discrimination against mothers with a low level of education in health convalescent treatment allocation was found in this data set.

  • Mimikveränderungen während einer Traumatherapie : Explorative Studie zum Zusammenhang mimisch-affektiver Veränderungen mit therapeutischen Outcomes
  • 2018
  • In: Psychotherapeut (Berlin). - : Springer. - 0935-6185 .- 1432-2080. ; 63:1, s. 49-54
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Background: Clinicians frequently describe changes in facial affective behavior during the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). An increase in facial affective behavior is seen in association with a reduction of numbing symptoms. Objective: The purpose of this exploratory study was to demonstrate the changes in facial affective behavior (especially negative affects) during inpatient eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) treatment and to examine to what extent these changes correspond to shifts in symptom severity. Material and methods: Facial affective behavior was coded during therapeutic sessions for 16 patients who were chronically traumatized during their youth, using the facial action coding system (FACS) for 3 time points, before, during and 1 year after treatment with EMDR. Data of the impact of event scale revised (IES-R), the symptom checklist (SCL-90-R), Beck depression inventory (BDI-V) and a questionnaire for dissociative symptoms (FDS) was documented for 16 female patients with a mean age of 39 years (SD = ±10). Results and conclusion: There was a significant change in facial affective behavior during and after treatment (χ2(2) = 5.73, p = 0.030). Total facial affective behavior and the expression of negative affect significantly increased 1 year after therapy; however, there were no significant correlations between the change of facial affective behavior during EMDR treatment and relevant outcome variables. Further research will show if monitoring facial affective behavior is useful to assess therapeutic success, especially with respect to social interactions. © 2017, Springer Medizin Verlag GmbH.

  • Mapping von Übergängen im Lebenslauf. Eine Erkundung der prozessontologischen Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Situationsanalyse
  • 2023
  • In: Forum Qualitative Sozialforschung. - 1438-5627. ; 24:2
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • In our article we focus on potentials and challenges that arise in the use of situational analysis for reflexive-relational transition research. We discuss how transitions can be mapped as transformation processes in the life course and mapping can function as reflective tool in research projects. We explore mapping transitions not only as static situations, but also in their complex processuality. To do this, we discuss transition and reflexive maps inspired by CLARKE's situational analysis, and thereby the challenge of mapping processes. We start by discussing a mapping strategy inspired by situational analysis for the study of transitions, and proceed with an innovation of maps based on a research project. The aim is to trace the processes of change and to be able to analyze and map the connections between different dimensions and actors in these events. We reflect on various mapping strategies developed in the project to analyze spatial-material and temporal-processual aspects, their potentials, and limitations as well as the research process. Mapping processes remains challenging and important for future research. Combining situational analysis and life course research opens up possibilities for researchers to better conceptualize the processuality of situations and to test different mapping procedures for this purpose.
