    • Superconducting multiplexing/demultiplexing arrangements include a number of signal input devices and a number of signal output devices. A number of resonators provides a number of filters. Each filter represents a channel. The resonator(s) operate(s) devices at lest in dual mode, and tuning devices are provided so that at least some of the resonators is/are tuneable. A method is provided of multiplexing signals incoming to a multiplexing arrangement with a number of resonators, each of the resonators having a number of input ports which are so arranged that a number of mulitpole filters are created. Input signals having different frequencies are supplied to the different input ports of the resonators, each of which is operated in three modes. Coupling devices are arranged which at least comprise the angle between the input ports and a symmetry plane. The angles are non-perpendicularly azimuth. Tuning devices are further provided for tuning the resonant frequencies of the degenerate modes, and the coupling angles and tuning devices are controlled so that for a number of input signals, only input signal is transmitted to the output devices.

    • A waveguide structure for evanescent wave microscopy and/or spectroscopy, comprising an optically transparent core layer, a lower dielectric cladding layer and an upper dielectric cladding layer arranged on opposite sides of the core layer. The core layer has a refractive index higher than the refractive indices of the cladding layers. The upper cladding layer is made of an organic material. A sample well is arranged on an upper surface of the core layer formed by a cavity in the upper cladding layer, the sample well being adapted to contain a sample medium with one or more sample objects. The core layer is made of a first dielectric inorganic material, and the upper cladding layer has a refractive index which closely matches the refractive index of the sample medium. A method for manufacturing such waveguide structure, and a measurement system comprising the waveguide structure are also disclosed.

    • The present invention relates to a nanotube device (100) comprising a nanotube with a longitudinal and a lateral extension, a structure for supporting at least a first part of the nanotube, and first means for exerting a force upon the nanotube in a first direction defined by its lateral extension. At least a second part of the nanotube protrudes beyond the support of said structure, so that when said force exceeds a certain level, the second part of the nanotube will flex in the direction of its lateral extension, and thereby close a first electrical circuit. Suitably, the first means for exerting said force upon the nanotube is an electrical means, the force being created by applying a voltage to the means. The device allows for quantum mechanics tunnel effects, both at a source and at a drain electrode.
