An important question that has come to my mind: How do people learn and understand programming of computers? One of the explanations for putting the question is my assertion that it might be important in the long run. Because, I assume that if people have a bit more understanding of programming and the functionality of computers that will help them to be the master of the computer. That will also help them to realise how they might use the computers in their daily life. As a first step I will present my theoretical assumptions and some empirical basis for how to study individuals experiencing of learning programming. In my case I have studied programming in the context of using robots.Due to the phenomenographic assumption the choice of strategy of teaching should be done according to how the learner is thinking; that is to say according to my study the way the learner is experiencing programming robots. Therefore we have to know more about that experiencing before it is time to do research about how to support learning in the context of programming robots.
