- In 1990, the EHE (Enterprise in Higher Education) was introduced to British Universities, with a view to developing 'enterprise' skills to ensure that graduates should be better prepared for working life. It embraced a wide range of approaches, including curriculum and staff development, innovative approaches to teaching and learning and the greater encouragement of partnerships between higher education institutions and employers. To support these initiatives, institutions were awarded contracts for up to H million over five years. The total expenditure for EHE and related projects between 1993 and 1999 will have been f60 million, within some 60 institutions.
