  • Det pinsamma mötet mellan forskare och bibliotekarier - några erfarenheter från undervisningen i litteratursökning vid De konstnärliga högskolorna i Malmö
  • 2006
  • In: InfoTrend. - 0040-6872. ; 61:1, s. 3-14
  • Journal article (other academic/artistic)abstract
    • Librarians and researchers - memories of embarrassing encounters and hopes for a bright future. As a bibliographic instructor of Ph.D. candidates at the Malmö Academies of Performing Arts, the author is looking for reasons why he seems to fail to make a reasonable impact. He suggests that one important condition consists of how researchers consider their role vis-à-vis librarians. Interviews seem to confirm results of other studies, indicating that relations with librarians generally are regarded as of very limited interest. Some do, however, favor a rapprochement which leads the author to speculate about the merits of a "new" professional role, a symbiosis of researcher and librarian, and a developing sense of commonality.

  • Lewis Acid Mediated [2,3]-Sigmatropic Rearrangement of Allylic Ammonium Ylides
  • 2003
  • In: Tetrahedron Letters. - 0040-4039 .- 1359-8562. ; 44:15, s. 3159-3162
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • An investigation of the Lewis acid mediated [2,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement of allylic ammonium ylides has been conducted by employing various bases and boron Lewis acids. Using BBr3 together with the phosphazene base 6, various allylic amines could be rearranged in good yields with low to excellent diastereoselectivity.

  • Referenstaktiker – konsten att guida i det okända
  • 2006
  • In: InfoTrend. - 0040-6872. ; 61:3, s. 82-88
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Reference tactics – the art of guiding in the unknown How can academic librarians overcome the knowledge gap between themselves and library users? As we see it, the gap is generated by the user’s deeper knowledge of the subject topic in comparison to that of the librarian. This knowledge gives the user possibilities of handling certain premises attached to the subject and also of seeing how sub-topics relate to each other within the main subject topic. At the same time the user is in need of assistance to fi nd subject information and this need needs to be explained to the librarian as a search expert. The scope of our study was to fi nd out how the librarian, tactically, can reach the user’s needdespite lack of subject knowledge. The main fi ndings of our study were nine different reference tactics conducted by the librarians in situations where their subject knowledge was believed to be insuffi cient. The tactics were labelled as follows: Interview, Dialogue, Routine Conduct, Random Test, Collaboration, Feedback, Forwarding, Follow up and Pedagogic Strategic Tactic.

    • Electronic publishing and institutional archives – a scholarship report from CaliforniaIn June 2005 Linda Gustafsson and Kristina Lindgren had the opportunity to make a one week visit to the library at Caltech University, Pasadena in California. The aim was to see how the library staff worked with e-publishing together with the researchers at the campus. As researchers are an important user group for the libraries, the authors wanted to see how services towards them could be strenghtened. They also had the chance to meet some of the researchers working at the University. This journey was possible due to the travelling scholarship they got from the Swedish Assocation of Information Specialists, Swets Information Services and BIBSAM - the Royal Library’s Department for National Co-ordination and Development.
