  • Nuclear symmetry energy for A=48 isobars in relativistic mean field theory
  • 2004
  • In: Gaoneng wuli yu he wuli. - 0254-3052. ; 28, s. 66-68
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Recently it was found that the nuclear symmetry energy can be directly associated with the mean level density and an iso-vector potential. In this paper, the nuclear symmetry energy is studied within the relativistic mean field (RMF) theory. The potential of the RMF theory can be separated into an isovector and isoscalar components. The nuclear binding energies in A = 48 isobaric chain calculated from RMF theory with or without the isovector terms for effective interactions PK1, NLSH, NL3, and TM1 have been used to analyze the nuclear symmetry energy in detail, i.e., mean level spacing epsilon and the effective isovector potential strength K.

  • Status report of the MS-ECRIS construction
  • 2007
  • In: High Energy Physics & Nuclear Physics - Chinese Edition. - 0254-3052. ; 31, s. 13-17
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • The design of each component of the Multipurpose Superconducting ECR Ion Source (MS-ECRIS) has been completed and some items are ready. The magnets and the cryostat are under construction at ACCEL and the commissioning is scheduled for March 2007. The mechanical have been optimized and their construction is under way, the microwave system is under refurbishment and the 65kV power supply is available and upgraded for afterglow operations. Pumping and extraction system were adapted to the EIS testbench of GSI Darmstadt. The description of,each part will be given in the paper along with a schedule of the forthcoming development and experiments.

  • Shape coexistence and band termination in 131La
  • 2002
  • In: Gaoneng Wuli Yu He Wuli. - 0254-3052. ; 26:3, s. 266-272
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • The configuration-dependent cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky model is used to study the band structures in La-131. Shape coexistence and band termination are investigated for several configurations. The calculations indicate that La-131 is a gamma-soft nucleus. The theoretical results are compared with experimental data. The calculated pi( h(11/2))(2) circle times nu( h(11/2))(8) configuration with (pi, alpha) = ( +, - 1/2) shows very good agreement with the experimental band observed to highest spin. The termination of this band is not favored, i. e. a relatively large energy is required to build the highest spin states in the band.

  • Ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy of fullerenes C-60 and C-70 : A model study
  • 2006
  • In: Gaoneng wuli yu he wuli. - 0254-3052. ; 30:4, s. 368-370
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Geometrical optimizations of two fullerenes, C-60 and C-70, have been performed by means of density-functional theory techniques. Based on the Gelius model, ultraviolet photoelectron spectra (UPS) Of C-60 and C-70 have been simulated. We have shown how the different local arrangements of carbon atoms of C-70 are responsible for the spectra. Our calculated spectra are in good agreement with the experimental counterparts.

  • High-pressure studies of Nano/sub-micrometer C70 rods
  • 2005
  • In: High Energy Physics and Nuclear Physics B. - 0254-3052. ; 29:Supplement, s. 112-115
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • We have successfully synthesized C-70 rods in nano/sub-micrometers scale by evaporating solvent method. The diameter of the as grown C-70 rods is similar to 500 nm, and the length is similar to 10 mu m. The EDXD pattern and Raman spectroscopy for as -grown sample indicate that the as grown C-70 rod is in hcp structure. The pressure-induced structural phase transition has been studied by using DAC combined with EDXD and Raman spectroscopy methods under quasi-hydrostatic pressure up to 26.1GPa. It is found that hcp structure transforms into amorphous phase for C-70 rods in the pressure range from 23.3 to 26.1GPa, which is higher than the transformation pressure for bulk C-70 crystals. The phase transition is irreversible and it is induced by the collapse of C-70 cage.

  • High-spin level scheme of Cs-126
  • 2004
  • In: Gaoneng wuli yu he wuli. - 0254-3052. ; 28:5, s. 491-494
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • High-spin states of Cs-126 have been populated via the Cd-116(N-14, 4n) Cs-126 reaction. The experiment was performed at Niels Bohr Institute in Denmark in 1991. After careful data analysis, most of the previously-known bands have been pushed up to much higher spins and 3 new rotational sequences have been identified. Spin, parity and configuration assignments are tentatively proposed for all of the observed bands.
