    • Macroeconomic balance and political stability are the foundations of the so-called success of the Chilean economy. At the same time, the performance of income distribution definitely detracts from the success of the economic model. The result expected by the architects of the model, that is, a close positive correlation between economic growth and income distribution has not taken place. The objective of this work is to descriptively analyse the sustained economic growth together with the unaltered income distribution during the period 1990-2017. This period is interesting to analyse because of the return to democracy that takes place in 1990. The analysis of the results provides the conclusion that the fruit of the economic growth has not benefited all members of society.
