  • In vivo luminescence imaging and tomography using upconverting nanoparticles as contrast agents
  • 2012
  • In: 2012 Asia Communications and Photonics Conference. - 2162-108X. ; , s. 2-3
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Upconverting nanoparticles have recently drawn increasingly attention as contrast agents for optical bioimaging. They enable autofluorescence-free imaging within the tissue optical window, and improved spatial resolution as compared to conventional fluorescence-based contrast agents. • Monitoring of Flying Horticulture Pest Insects Using a Bi-Static Lidar System
  • 2021
  • In: 2021 Asia Communications and Photonics Conference, ACP 2021 - Proceedings. - 2162-108X. - 9781957171005 ; 2021-October
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • A CW 980 nm bi-static lidar system based on the Scheimpflug principle and capable of resolving wing-beats was used to monitor flying Conopomorpha sinensis Bradley pest insects in a Lychee fruit orchard in South China.

  • Digital Emulation of Time-Varying PMD for Real-Time DSP Evaluations
  • 2021
  • In: Asia Communications and Photonics Conference, ACP. - 2162-108X. - 9781957171005 ; M4H
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • We introduce a digital PMD emulator to accelerate BER analysis of coherent receiver DSPs. The emulator creates parameterizable, time-varying impairments, which we use to demonstrate real-time analysis of a CMA equalizer.

  • Is there a role for frequency combs in long-haul fiber transmission?
  • 2019
  • In: Asia Communications and Photonics Conference, ACP. - 2162-108X. ; 2019-November
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • We present and discuss the unique benefits with respect to joint signal processing, of using frequency combs instead of independent lasers in long-haul wavelength-division multiplexed systems.

  • Wide-bandwidth diffused optical spectroscopy for pharmaceutical characterization
  • 2012
  • In: 2012 Asia Communications and Photonics Conference. - 2162-108X. ; , s. 2-3
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • We report on considerable improvement in measurements precision of the ultra broadband photon time of flight absorption/scattering spectrometer. We illustrate outstanding performance of the instrument by performing highly precise evaluation of the chemical composition of pharmaceuticals.

  • In: 2019 Asia Communications and Photonics Conference, ACP 2019 - Proceedings. - 2162-108X. - 9781943580705 ; 2019-November
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • A dual-wavelength continuous-wave lidar based on the Scheimpflug principle was employed to study the diurnal insect activity above a lake in South China. Insect numbers, wingbeat frequencies and reflectance sensitivity to different wavelengths were investigated.

  • Fine-Granularity Bandwidth Allocation for Diverse Low-Latency Services in Higher-Speed Passive Optical Networks
  • 2022
  • In: Asia Communications and Photonics Conference, ACP. - 2162-108X. ; 2022-November, s. 1135-1139
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • To support time-sensitive (TS) services with differential low latency requirements, this paper proposes a fine-granularity bandwidth allocation algorithm (FgBA) in higher speed passive optical networks (i.e., ITU-T 50G PON). Simulation results show that FgBA can meet the diverse low latency requirements of TS services regardless of traffic load.
