  • Electroabsorption Modulators Suitable for 100-Gb/s Ethernet
  • 2008
  • In: IEEE Electron Device Letters. - 0741-3106 .- 1558-0563. ; 29:9, s. 1014-1016
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • The design of a traveling-wave electroabsorption modulator (TWEAM) has been improved to decrease the drive voltage. The absorption layer was optimized and together with a novel segmentation of microwave design was introduced to increase the active modulator length. The resulting -3-dBe bandwidth of fabricated devices was estimated to be 99 GHz. Extinction ratios of 10 dB back-to-back and 6.7 dB after transmission over 2.2-km long fiber were measured with an incident drive voltage of only 2 V peak to peak. This TWEAM performance is believed to constitute a new state of the art for modulators suitable for 100-Gb/s Ethernet with on-off keying.

  • ETDM Transmitter Module for 100-Gb/s Ethernet
  • 2010
  • In: IEEE Photonics Technology Letters. - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). - 1041-1135 .- 1941-0174. ; 22:2, s. 70-72
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Performance of a packaged distributed-feedback travelling-wave electroabsorption modulator module for data transmission at 100 Gb/s is presented for the first time. Clearly open eye diagrams at 80 Gb/s with an extinction ratio ( ER) of 4.9 dB and 100 Gb/s with ER 4.2 dB ( limited by measurement setup) are demonstrated together with data transmission over 100-m-long standard single-mode fiber and over dispersion-compensated 10-km fiber link.

  • Monolithically Integrated 100 GHz DFB-TWEAM
  • 2009
  • In: Journal of Lightwave Technology. - 0733-8724 .- 1558-2213. ; 7:16, s. 3410-3415
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • A monolithically integrated distributed feedback (DFB) laser and traveling-wave electro-absorption modulator (TWEAM) with >= 100 GHz -dBe bandwidth suitable for Non-return-to-zero (NRZ) operation with on-off keying (OOK) is presented. The steady-state, small-signal modulation response, microwave reflection, chirp characteristic, and both data operation and transmission were investigated. The DFB-TWEAM was found to be an attractive candidate for future short distance communication in high bitrates systems.

  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Electro-Absorption-Transceiver (EAT) structures used as efficient Travelling-Wave Electro-Absorption-Modulator (TWEAM) as well as Travelling-Wave-Photo-Detector (TWPD) are investigated. Clear eye-openings at 100Gb/s for operation as modulator and/or as detector, as well as 80Gb/s transmission between a pair of EATs, are presented.

  • Förstudie av det bilaterala svensk-kinesiska samarbetet kring ekostäder
  • 2015
  • Reports (other academic/artistic)abstract

  • A modified neo-Hookean model for semi-crystalline thermoplastics assessed by relaxation and zero-stress creep tests of recycled polypropylene and polyoxymethylene
  • 2024
  • In: Mechanics of time-dependant materials. - : Springer. - 1385-2000 .- 1573-2738. ; 28, s. 43-63
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • The mechanical behavior of thermoplastics is strongly rate-dependent, and oftentimes it is difficult to find constitutive models that can accurately describe their behavior in the small to moderate strain regime. In this paper, a hyperelastic network model (modified neo-Hookean) and a set of experiments are presented. The testing consists of monotonic tensile loading as well as stress relaxation and zero stress creep. Two materials were tested, polyoxymethylene (POM) and recycled polypropylene (rPP), representing one more rigid and brittle and one softer and more ductile semi-crystalline polymer. The model contains two main novelties. The first novelty is that the stiffness is allowed to vary with the elastic deformation (in contrast to a standard neo-Hookean model). The second novelty is that the exponent governing viscous relaxation is allowed to vary with the viscous deformation. The basic features of the new model are illustrated, and the model was fitted to the experimental data. The model proved to be able to describe the experimental results well.
