  • The Visual Object Tracking VOT2016 Challenge Results
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: COMPUTER VISION - ECCV 2016 WORKSHOPS, PT II. - Cham : SPRINGER INT PUBLISHING AG. - 9783319488813 - 9783319488806 ; , s. 777-823
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Visual Object Tracking challenge VOT2016 aims at comparing short-term single-object visual trackers that do not apply pre-learned models of object appearance. Results of 70 trackers are presented, with a large number of trackers being published at major computer vision conferences and journals in the recent years. The number of tested state-of-the-art trackers makes the VOT 2016 the largest and most challenging benchmark on short-term tracking to date. For each participating tracker, a short description is provided in the Appendix. The VOT2016 goes beyond its predecessors by (i) introducing a new semi-automatic ground truth bounding box annotation methodology and (ii) extending the evaluation system with the no-reset experiment.

  • Study of SiGe selective epitaxial process integration with high-k and metal gate for 16/14 nm nodes FinFET technology
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Microelectronic Engineering. - : Elsevier. - 0167-9317 .- 1873-5568. ; 163, s. 49-54
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this study, the process integration of SiGe selective epitaxy on source/drain regions, for 16/14 nm nodes FinFET with high-k & metal gate has been presented. Selectively grown Si1-xGex (0.35 <= x <= 0.40) with boron concentration of 1 x 10(20) cm(-3) was used to elevate the source/drain of the transistors. The epi-quality, layer profile and strain amount of the selectively grown SiGe layers were also investigated by means of various characterizations. A series of prebaking experiments were performed for temperatures ranging from 740 to 825 degrees C in order to in situ clean the Si fins prior to the epitaxy. The results showed that the thermal budget needs to be limited to 780-800 degrees C in order to avoid any damages to the shape of Si fins but to remove the native oxide effectively which is essential for high epitaxial quality. The Ge content in SiGe layers on Si fins was determined from the strain measured directly by reciprocal space mappings using synchrotron radiation. Atomic layer deposition technique was applied to fill the gate trench with W using WF6 and B2H6 precursors. By such an AID approach, decent growth rate, low resistivity and excellent gap filling capability of W in pretty high aspect-ratio gate trench was realized. The as-fabricated FinFETs demonstrated decent electrical characteristics.

  • Immunologic mapping of glycomes: implications for cancer diagnosis and therapy.
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: Frontiers in bioscience (Scholar edition). - 1945-0524. ; 3, s. 1520-32
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Cancer associated glycoconjugates are important biomarkers, as exemplified by globo-H, CA125, CA15.3 and CA27.29. However, the exact chemical structures of many such biomarkers remain unknown because of technological limitations. In this article, we propose the "immunologic mapping" of cancer glycomes based on specific immune recognition of glycan structures, which can be hypothesized theoretically, produced chemically, and examined biologically by immuno-assays. Immunologic mapping of glycans not only provides a unique perspective on cancer glycomes, but also may lead to the invention of powerful reagents for diagnosis and therapy.

  • A Human IPS Model Implicates Embryonic B-Myeloid Fate Restriction as Developmental Susceptibility to B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia-Associated ETV6-RUNX1
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Developmental Cell. - : Elsevier BV. - 1534-5807 .- 1878-1551. ; 44:3, s. 7-377
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • ETV6-RUNX1 is associated with childhood acute B-lymphoblastic leukemia (cALL) functioning as a first-hit mutation that initiates a clinically silent pre-leukemia in utero. Because lineage commitment hierarchies differ between embryo and adult, and the impact of oncogenes is cell-context dependent, we hypothesized that the childhood affiliation of ETV6-RUNX1 cALL reflects its origins in a progenitor unique to embryonic life. We characterize the first emerging B cells in first-trimester human embryos, identifying a developmentally restricted CD19−IL-7R+ progenitor compartment, which transitions from a myeloid to lymphoid program during ontogeny. This developmental series is recapitulated in differentiating human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs), thereby providing a model for the initiation of cALL. Genome-engineered hPSCs expressing ETV6-RUNX1 from the endogenous ETV6 locus show expansion of the CD19−IL-7R+ compartment, show a partial block in B lineage commitment, and produce proB cells with aberrant myeloid gene expression signatures and potential: features (collectively) consistent with a pre-leukemic state. Böiers, Richardson et al. explore the potential for a developmental susceptibility to childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Characterization of earliest B cell progenitors in human fetal liver identified a unique progenitor compartment that can be recapitulated using human pluripotent stem cells to model the impact of the pre-leukemia-initiating oncogene ETV6-RUNX1.

  • Analysis of Age of Information in Dual Updating Systems
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. - : IEEE-INST ELECTRICAL ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS INC. - 1536-1276 .- 1558-2248. ; 22:11, s. 8003-8019
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We study the average Age of Information (AoI) and peak AoI (PAoI) of a dual-queue status update system that monitors a common stochastic process through two independent channels. Although the double queue parallel transmission is instrumental in reducing AoI, the out of order of data arrivals also imposes a significant challenge to the performance analysis. We consider two settings: the M-M system where the service time of two servers is exponentially distributed; the M-D system in which the service time of one server is exponentially distributed and that of the other is deterministic. For the two dual-queue systems, closed-form expressions of average AoI and PAoI are derived by resorting to the graphic method and state flow graph analysis method. Our analysis reveals that when the two servers have the same service rate, compared with the single-queue system with an exponentially distributed service time, the average PAoI and the average AoI of the M-M system decrease by 33.3% and 37.5%, respectively, and those of the M-D system decrease by 27.7% and 39.7%, respectively. Numerical results show that the two dual-queue systems also outperform the M/M/2 single queue dual-server system with optimized arrival rate in terms of average AoI and PAoI.

  • Effects of Austenitizing Temperature on Tensile and Impact Properties of a Martensitic Stainless Steel Containing Metastable Retained Austenite
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Materials. - : MDPI AG. - 1996-1944. ; 14:4
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Austenitizing temperature is one decisive factor for the mechanical properties of medium carbon martensitic stainless steels (MCMSSs). In the present work, the effects of austenitizing temperature (1000, 1020, 1040 and 1060 degrees C) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of MCMSSs containing metastable retained austenite (RA) were investigated by means of electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), as well as tensile and impact toughness tests. Results suggest that the microstructure including an area fraction of undissolved M23C6, carbon and chromium content in matrix, prior austenite grain size (PAGS), fraction and composition of RA in studied MCMSSs varies with employed austenitizing temperature. By optimizing austenitizing temperature (1060 degrees C for 40 min) and tempering (250 degrees C for 30 min) heat treatments, the MCMSS demonstrates excellent mechanical properties with the ultimate tensile strength of 1740 +/- 8 MPa, a yield strength of 1237 +/- 19 MPa, total elongation (ductility) of 10.3 +/- 0.7% and impact toughness of 94.6 +/- 8.0 Jcm(-2) at room temperature. The increased ductility of alloys is mainly attributed to the RA with a suitable stability via a transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP) effect, and a matrix containing reduced carbon and chromium content. However, the impact toughness of MCMSSs largely depends on M23C6 carbides.

  • Information Freshness in A Dual Monitoring System
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: 2022 IEEE GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS CONFERENCE (GLOBECOM 2022). - : IEEE. - 9781665435406 - 9781665435413 ; , s. 4977-4982
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We study the average age of information (AoI) and peak AoI (PAoI) of a dual-queue status update system that monitors a common stochastic process. We capture the state transition characteristics of the considered system by establishing a Markov chain. Using the state flow graph analysis method, we derive closed-form expressions of the average peak age of information (PAoI) and the average age of information (AoI) for the dual-queue update system. The numerical results show that compared with the single-queue update system, the average PAoI of the dual-queue update system is reduced by 33.5% and the average AoI dropped by 37.5%.

  • Embodied AI Through Cloud-Fog Computing: A Framework for Everywhere Intelligence
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: 2024 33rd International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, ISIE 2024 - Proceedings. - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc..
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Embodied AI represents a crucial step towards achieving Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). The next paradigm of Embodied AI involves physical embodiment, enhanced perception capabilities, and adaptive automation. This advances the field significantly, paving the way for broader expansion. Despite the significant progress, existing computing frameworks, like local computation or cloud computing, struggle to meet the substantial demands of Embodied AI. The Cloud-Fog Embodied framework, namely based on CFA (cloud-fog automation) offers a promising solution to address these challenges. Our goal is to drive integration across multiple domains, including AI, robotics and industrial production, to tackle multifaceted challenges and seize opportunities to achieve AGI in the future.

  • Elevated temperatures increase growth and enhance foraging performances of a marine gastropod
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Aquaculture Environment Interactions. - 1869-215X. ; 13, s. 177-188
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The oceans continue to warm due to rising atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations. Most climate-change studies of aquaculture species use temperature changes based on coarse-resolution climate models and without considering thermal ranges of an animal. Coarse-resolution climate models are generated by global-scale data, which is insufficient to capture the conditions of coastal areas where most aquaculture activity occurs. Therefore, ocean warming research on coastal organisms requires a more comprehensive design to include broad temperature gradients. By using the ecologically and commercially important coastal whelk Rapana venosa, we combined long-term and short-term experiments and selected 4 temperature treatments (19, 23, 27, and 30°C) to simulate different scenarios to test ocean warming effects on growth rates and foraging performances of whelks. We found that elevated temperature within the whelk’s thermal range (23 and 27°C) significantly increased growth rates and enhanced foraging performances of marine whelks when compared to the current temperature (19°C). Conversely, the whelk’s performance collapsed at 30°C in terms of both growth and foraging behavior. Our research clearly shows that local conditions and the tolerance range of a species must be considered to develop meaningful information for testing the effects of a changing climate. Our study suggests that rapa whelks may increase their feeding and reach larger sizes during warmer periods. Moreover, our study may provide a foundation for future climate research on aquaculture species.
