  • Bipartite Split-Merge Evolutionary Clustering
  • 2019
  • In: Lect. Notes Comput. Sci.. - Cham : Springer. - 9783030374938 ; , s. 204-223
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • We propose a split-merge framework for evolutionary clustering. The proposed clustering technique, entitled Split-Merge Evolutionary Clustering is supposed to be more robust to concept drift scenarios by providing the flexibility to consider at each step a portion of the data and derive clusters from it to be used subsequently to update the existing clustering solution. The proposed framework is built around the idea to model two clustering solutions as a bipartite graph, which guides the update of the existing clustering solution by merging some clusters with ones from the newly constructed clustering while others are transformed by splitting their elements among several new clusters. We have evaluated and compared the discussed evolutionary clustering technique with two other state of the art algorithms: a bipartite correlation clustering (PivotBiCluster) and an incremental evolving clustering (Dynamic split-and-merge). © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.

  • Observation of two-dimensional longitudinal-transverse correlations in an electron beam by laser-electron interactions
  • 2008
  • In: Physical Review Special Topics - Accelerators and Beams. - 1098-4402. ; 11:7
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • During the preparatory work for the optical-replica synthesizer experiment in the free-electron laser FLASH at DESY, we were able to superimpose a short, approximately 200 fs long pulse from a frequencydoubled mode-locked erbium laser with titanium-sapphire amplifier and an approximately 20 ps long electron bunch in an undulator. This induces an energy modulation in a longitudinal slice of the electron bunch. A magnetic chicane downstream of the undulator converts the energy modulation into a density modulation within the slice that causes the emission of coherent optical transition radiation from a silver-coated silicon screen. Varying the relative timing between electron and laser, we use a camera to record two-dimensional images of the slices as a function of the longitudinal position within the electron bunch.

  • Wet etching study of La-0.67(Sr0.5Ca0.5)(0.33)MnO3 films on silicon substrates
  • 2008
  • In: Journal of Electronic Materials. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 0361-5235 .- 1543-186X. ; 37:3, s. 361-367
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Wet etching of colossal magnetoresistive (CMR) perovskite La-0.67(Sr0.5Ca0.5)(0.33)MnO3 (LSCMO) films on Bi4Ti3O12/CeO2/yttrium-stabilized zirconia (YSZ)-buffered Si substrates was investigated using potassium hydroxide (KOH) and buffered hydrofluoric acid (BHF) solutions. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning spreading resistance microscopy (SSRM) measurements revealed that the morphological roughness of the LSCMO films increases, while the electrical resistance roughness decreases, with increasing KOH etching time. The LSCMO films are highly chemically resistant to KOH solution; however, in the case of BHF etching, an etch rate of 22 nm/min was obtained with high selectivity over a photoresist mask.
