  • General Process Simulations
  • 2022
  • In: A Guide to Additive Manufacturing. - Cham : Springer International Publishing. - 2730-9584 .- 2730-9576. - 9783031058622 - 9783031058639 ; , s. 119-148
  • Book chapter (other academic/artistic)abstract
    • Simulation of AM products can capture a number of aspects. Apart from the traditional types of simulation of the end product, such as mechanical, thermal and fluid analyses, it is possible to simulate the AM build process. While simulating products intended for AM can sometimes be performed in exactly the same way as with products intended for traditional manufacturing, there are several aspects that may require a specialized workflow.

  • A review of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) of additive manufacturing and powder bed fusion lattices
  • 2022
  • In: Progress in Additive Manufacturing. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 2363-9512 .- 2363-9520. ; 7:6, s. 1297-1305
  • Research review (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • To increase industrial adoption, part qualifcation and certifcation of the additive manufacturing (AM) process are crucial through geometric benchmarking as well as optimising the properties and process parameters. However, an extensive researchgap remains concerning the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) of AM parts. This paper presents a review on the state-of-art GD&T benchmarking of powder bed fusion techniques enabling complex geometrical features like lattices. The study found a lack of design guidelines and standardised measurement techniques for lattice features and profles.

  • Functionally graded additive manufacturing
  • 2021
  • In: Additive Manufacturing with Functionalized Nanomaterials. - 9780128236161 - 9780128231524 ; , s. 35-54
  • Book chapter (other academic/artistic)abstract
    • Functionally graded additive manufacturing (FGAM) is a layer-by-layer manufacturing technique that allows material composition and organization to be achieved within a single volume to enable variational functionalities. Unlike traditional production methods, FGAM can produce freeform structures with customizable, site-specific properties at strategic locations. Advanced additive manufacturing processes make it possible to control the density and material deposition at different locations within a complex three-dimensional geometry. FGAM enables design freedom, personalized production, and enhanced weight-to-cost ratio with a single-step manufacturing process. This chapter provides an overview of FGAM processes, materials, and its prospective engineering applications.

  • CONCEPTUAL DESIGN FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING: AN EXPLORATIVE STUDY
  • 2020
  • In: Proceedings of the Design Society: DESIGN Conference. - : Cambridge University Press (CUP). - 2633-7762. ; 1, s. 441-450
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • With the broader industrial application of Additive Manufacturing (AM), designers are facing new challenges in conceptual design for AM. To better understand the problematic, the authors organised a design workshop with six experts in AM. The paper presents the results of the conducted design workshop and discusses the current and future trends in research on the conceptual design for AM.
