    • We wanted to find out which factors in the built environment were the most important for psychological wellbeing so that cities can be designed better to be both sustainable and supportive of mental health.A hectare of land can house the same amount of population with dense low-rises or sparse high-rises. High rises can be either in dense bustling business districts or in less dense city areas with fancy apartments facing a large green.Suburbs, however, tend to have a medium density of low-rise buildings. Which approach should we take?

    • Geografiska informationssystem (GIS) är idag en integrerad del av många människors liv genom bland annat olika mobila applikationer med spårning och GPS (Osborne et al., 2020). Forskning har även lyft fram kunskap inom GIS som en väsentlig del av framtidens samhälle (Mzuza & Van Der Westhuizen, 2019). Trots detta har det noterats att användning av GIS i grundskola och gymnasium är låg samt att lärare saknar nödvändiga kunskaper och färdigheter för att använda teknologin i klassrummet (Schubert & Johansson, 2019; Anunti, Vuopala & Rusanen, 2020; Nilsson & Bladh, 2020; Oda, Herman & Hasan, 2020).Med bakgrund i detta utforskar den här artikeln möjligheterna och utmaningarna med GIS för grundskola och gymnasium genom en litteraturstudie av den senaste tidens forskning. Innehållet i denna artikel bygger på material från en tidigare studie av författaren, publicerad 2023 i den vetenskapliga tidskriften European Journal of Geography och med titeln: Future paths for GIS in K-12 education: A review of possibilities and constraints.

    • A joint pre-conference (NW-12 & NW-3) on the methodology of comparative studies within the area of inclusive and early childhoodeducation was held on 14 of March 2023, at 13.00-17.15.This project was financed by the NERA research committee.Pre-conference was implemented in accoordance with the planned agenda.There were 14 participants at the event from Sweden, Australia, Island and Finland.There were introduced 2 lectures by the professor Walton:Topic 1 : The affordances/advantages of comparative research in inclusive and early childhood educationTopic 2: Methodological considerationsPart A: Considerations when embarking on comparative research;Part B: Variations to consider.Both of the presentations were discussed and possible comparative research themes were tested.The pre-conference got high level of appreciation and conditions for the further cooperative work among participants was negotiated.
