Book chapter (other academic/artistic)abstract
- This chapter examines the main forces that shape and determine human mobilities over time and space. Human mobility is different when people are on holiday than when they remain at home, but not all human mobility refers to tourism-related travel. There are many different mobility modalities that are brought about by transportation and communication technology, including financial deregulation, technology change, media evolution (e.g. social media) and the cost and time of moving people, services and commodities through time and space.
