Complete Genome Sequences of Two Staphylococcus saccharolyticus Strains Isolated from Prosthetic Joint Infections
- 2021
-
In: Microbiology Resource Announcements. - : American Society for Microbiology. - 2576-098X. ; 10:10
-
Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
- Staphylococcus saccharolyticus is a human skin bacterium and is occasionally associated with prosthetic joint infections (PJIs). Here, we report the complete genome sequences of two strains that were isolated from shoulder and hip PJIs. The genomes show signs of reductive evolution; around 21% of all coding sequences are inactivated by frameshift mutations.

Draft Genome Sequence and Annotation of the Lichen-Forming Fungus Arthonia radiata
- 2018
-
In: Microbiology Resource Announcements. - : AMER SOC MICROBIOLOGY. - 2576-098X. ; 6:14
-
Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
- We report here the draft de novo genome assembly, transcriptome assembly, and annotation of the lichen-forming fungus Arthonia radiata (Pers.) Ach., the type species for Arthoniomycetes, a class of lichen-forming, lichenicolous, and saprobic Ascomycota. The genome was assembled using overlapping paired-end and mate pair libraries and sequenced on an Illumina HiSeq 2500 instrument.

Draft genome sequence of bacillus coagulans ma-13, a thermophilic lactic acid producer from lignocellulose
- 2019
-
In: Microbiology Resource Announcements. - 2576-098X. ; 8:23
-
Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
- Bacillus coagulans MA-13 is an efficient lactic acid producer which withstands high concentrations of the growth inhibitors formed during the pretreatment of lignocellulosic feedstock. This draft genome sequence is expected to pave the way toward the understanding of mechanisms responsible for the robustness of MA-13 during simultaneous saccharification and fermentation.

Complete genome of Avian coronavirus vaccine strains Ma5 and BR-I
- 2017
-
In: Microbiology Resource Announcements. - 2576-098X. ; 5
-
Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
- Avian coronavirus (AvCoV) is a ubiquitous multiple-serotype pathogen of poultry, and its control is mainly based on the use of vaccines. We report here the previously unknown full genomes of the Ma5 (27,652 nucleotides [nt]) and BR-I (27,618 nt) AvCoV vaccine strains of the GI-1 (Massachusetts) and GI-11 (Brazil) types.

The complete genome of Avian coronavirus D274 strain
- 2018
-
In: Microbiology Resource Announcements. - 2576-098X. ; 7
-
Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
- Avian coronavirus, the causative agent of avian infectious bronchitis, occurs as multiple genotypes and lineages, and full genomes are not available for the majority of them. This paper reports the (previously unknown) complete genome sequence of strain D274 of this virus (27,599 nucleotides), isolated from chickens in The Netherlands in 1979.

Draft Genome Assembly of Stutzerimonas sp. Strain S1 and Achromobacter spanius Strain S4, Two Syringol-Metabolizing Bacteria Isolated from Compost Soil
- 2023
-
In: Microbiology Resource Announcements. - : American Society for Microbiology. - 2576-098X. ; 12:3
-
Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
- Two bacterial strains able to use syringol as a sole carbon source were isolated from compost. The isolates, named S1 and S4, were sequenced using the Illumina platform. The final assemblies contained 4.2 Mbp, 63% GC, and 3,912 genes for S1 and 6.2 Mbp, 64% GC, and 5,503 genes for S4.

Draft Genome Sequence of the Cellulolytic Fungus Chaetomium globosum
- 2015
-
In: Microbiology Resource Announcements. - 2576-098X. ; 3:1
-
Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
- Chaetomium globosum is a filamentous fungus typically isolated from cellulosic substrates. This species also causes superficial infections of humans and, more rarely, can cause cerebral infections. Here, we report the genome sequence of C. globosum isolate CBS 148.51, which will facilitate the study and comparative analysis of this fungus.

- 2016
-
In: Microbiology Resource Announcements. - Washington : American Society for Microbiology. - 2576-098X. ; 4:5
-
Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
- We report here the complete genome sequence (GenBank accession no. KX268728) of tick-borne encephalitis strain HB171/11, isolated from an Ixodes ricinus tick from a natural focus where human neurological disease is rare. The strain shows unique characteristics in neuroinvasiveness and neurovirulence.
