  • Two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations in central Pb-Pb collisions at root(NN)-N-S=2.76 TeV
  • 2011
  • In: Physics Letters. Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy Physics. - : Elsevier BV. - 0370-2693. ; 696:4, s. 328-337

    • The first measurement of two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations in central Pb-Pb collisions at root(NN)-N-S = 2.76 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider is presented. We observe a growing trend with energy now not only for the longitudinal and the outward but also for the sideward pion source radius. The pion homogeneity volume and the decoupling time are significantly larger than those measured at RHIC. (C) 2010 CERN. Published by Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

  • Z(gamma) production and limits on anomalous ZZ(gamma) and Z(gamma gamma) couplings in p(p)over-bar collisions at root s 1.96 TeV
  • 2012
  • In: Physical Review D. - 1550-7998 .- 1550-2368. ; 85:5, s. 052001-
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • We present a measurement of p (p) over bar -> Z gamma -> l(+)l(-)gamma (l = e, mu) production with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.2 fb(-1) collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron p (p) over bar Collider. The results of the electron and muon channels are combined, and we measure the total production cross section and the differential cross section d(sigma)/dp(T)(gamma), where p(T)(gamma) is the momentum of the photon in the plane transverse to the beam line. The results obtained are consistent with the standard model predictions from next-to-leading order calculations. We use the transverse momentum spectrum of the photon to place limits on anomalous ZZ gamma and Z gamma gamma couplings.

  • Measurement of the Lambda(0)(b) lifetime in the decay Lambda(0)(b)-> J/psi Lambda(0) with the D0 detector
  • 2005
  • In: Physical Review Letters. - 0031-9007 .- 1079-7114. ; 94:10, s. 102001-
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • We present measurements of the Lambda(b)(0) lifetime in the exclusive decay channel Lambda(b)(0)-> J/psi Lambda(0), with J/psi ->mu(+)mu(-) and Lambda(0)-> p pi(-), the B-0 lifetime in the decay B-0-> J/psi K-S(0) with J/psi ->mu(+)mu(-) and K-S(0)->pi(+)pi(-), and the ratio of these lifetimes. The analysis is based on approximately 250 pb(-1) of data recorded with the D0 detector in p (p) over bar collisions at root s = 1.96 TeV. The Lambda(b)(0) lifetime is determined to be tau(Lambda(b)(0))=1.22(-0.18)(+0.22)(stat)+/- 0.04(syst) ps, the B-0 lifetime tau(B-0)=1.40(-) (+0.11)(0.10)(stat)+/- 0.03(syst) ps, and the ratio tau(Lambda(b)(0))/tau(B-0)=0.87(-) (+0.17)(0.14)(stat)+/- 0.03(syst). In contrast with previous measurements using semileptonic decays, this is the first determination of the Lambda(b)(0) lifetime based on a fully reconstructed decay channel.

  • Measurement of differential tt production cross sections in pp collisions
  • 2014
  • In: Physical Review D. - 1550-7998 .- 1550-2368. ; 90:9, s. 092006-
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • The production of top quark-antiquark pair events in pp collisions at root s= 1.96 TeV is studied as a function of the transverse momentum and absolute value of the rapidity of the top quarks as well as of the invariant mass of the tt pair. We select events containing an isolated lepton, a large imbalance in transverse momentum, and four or more jets with at least one jet identified as originating from a b quark. The data sample corresponds to 9.7 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity recorded with the D0 detector during Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Observed differential cross sections are consistent with standard model predictions.

  • Measurement of the combined rapidity and p(T) dependence of dijet azimuthal decorrelations in p(p)over-bar collisions at root s=1.96 TeV
  • 2013
  • In: Physics Letters B. - : Elsevier BV. - 0370-2693 .- 1873-2445. ; 721:4-5, s. 212-219
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • We present the first combined measurement of the rapidity and transverse momentum dependence of dijet azimuthal decorrelations, using the recently proposed quantity R-Delta phi. The variable R-Delta phi measures the fraction of the inclusive dijet events in which the azimuthal separation of the two jets with the highest transverse momenta is less than a specified value of the parameter Delta phi(max). The quantity R-Delta phi is measured in p (p) over bar collisions at root s = 1.96 TeV, as a function of the dijet rapidity interval, the total scalar transverse momentum, and Delta phi(max). The measurement uses an event sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 0.7 fb(-1) collected with the DO detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The results are compared to predictions of a perturbative QCD calculation at next-to-leading order in the strong coupling with corrections for non-perturbative effects. The theory predictions describe the data well, except in the kinematic region of large dijet rapidity intervals and small Delta phi(max).

  • Search for a Higgs boson produced in association with a Z boson in p(p)over-bar collisions
  • 2007
  • In: Physics Letters B. - : Elsevier BV. - 0370-2693 .- 1873-2445. ; 655:5-6, s. 209-216
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • We describe a search for the Standard Model Higgs boson with a mass of 105 GeV/c(2) to 145 GeV/c(2) in data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 450 pb(-1) collected with the D phi detector at the Fermilab Tevatron p (p) over bar collider at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The Higgs boson is required to be produced in association with a Z boson, and the Z boson is required to decay to either electrons or muons with the Higgs boson decaying to a b (b) over bar pair. The data are well described by the expected background, leading to 95% confidence level cross section upper limits sigma (p (p) over bar -> ZH) x B(H -> b (b) over bar) in the range of 3.1 pb to 4.4 pb.

  • Search for neutral, long-lived particles decaying into two muons in p(p)over-bar collisions at root s=1.96 TeV
  • 2006
  • In: Physical Review Letters. - 0031-9007 .- 1079-7114. ; 97:16, s. 161802-
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • We present a search for a neutral particle, pair produced in pp collisions at root s=1.96 TeV, which decays into two muons and lives long enough to travel at least 5 cm before decaying. The analysis uses approximate to 380 pb(-1) of data recorded with the D0 detector. The background is estimated to be about one event. No candidates are observed, and limits are set on the pair-production cross section times branching fraction into dimuons + X for such particles. For a mass of 10 GeV and lifetime of 4x10(-11) s, we exclude values greater than 0.14 pb (95% C.L.). These results are used to limit the interpretation of NuTeV's excess of dimuon events.

  • Search for R-parity violating supersymmetry via the LL(E)over-bar couplings lambda(121), lambda(122) or lambda(133) in p(p)over-bar collisions at root s=1.96 TeV
  • 2006
  • In: Physics Letters B. - : Elsevier BV. - 0370-2693 .- 1873-2445. ; 638:5-6, s. 441-449
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • A search for gaugino pair production with a trilepton signature in the framework of R-parity violating supersymmetry via the couplings; lambda(121), lambda(122), or lambda(133) is presented. The data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of L approximate to 360 pb(-1), were collected from April 2002 to August 2004 with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 1.96 TeV. This analysis considers final states with three charged leptons with the flavor combinations eel, mu mu l, and ee tau (l = e or mu). No evidence for supersymmetry is found and limits at the 95% confidence level are set on the gaugino pair production cross section and lower bounds on the masses of the lightest neutralino and chargino are derived in two supersymmetric models.

  • Search for right-handed W bosons in top quark decay
  • 2005
  • In: Physical Review D. - 1550-7998 .- 1550-2368. ; 72:1, s. 011104-
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • We present a measurement of the fraction f(+) of right-handed W bosons produced in top quark decays, based on a candidate sample of t (t) over bar events in the lepton+jets decay mode. These data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 230 pb(-1), collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron p (p) over bar Collider at root s=1.96 TeV. We use a constrained fit to reconstruct the kinematics of the t (t) over bar and decay products, which allows for the measurement of the leptonic decay angle theta(*) for each event. By comparing the cos theta(*) distribution from the data with those for the expected background and signal for various values of f(+), we find f(+)=0.00 +/- 0.13(stat)+/- 0.07(syst). This measurement is consistent with the standard model prediction of f(+)=3.6 x 10(-4).
