  • Estetisk och kosmetisk tandvård. Nytt och unikt eller gamla metoder som vidareutvecklats?
  • 2005
  • In: Tandläkartidningen. - 0039-6982. ; 97:5
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract

  • Integrating Production Planning into Road Corridor Evaluation Using ETL
  • 2016
  • In: Proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Computing in Civil and Building Engineering. - 9784990737122
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Complex road projects, particularly near sensitive locations, often have substantial effects on humans and theenvironment caused by construction, production processes and the use phase. Before a road alignment isdetermined, several road corridors are identified and evaluated during early planning stages. Oftentimes thisevaluation focuses on impacts of the finished road whereas construction and production processes frequently areignored, risking viable corridors to be discarded before having been sufficiently evaluated. Existing IT-systemsenables modeling of relevant aspects such as road corridors, noise, pollution, production and construction, butthere is often a lack of interoperability between these systems. Interoperability problems can be faced withExtract Transform Load (ETL) tools but this has not been adequately examined regarding infrastructure projects. Our study presents a novel method for evaluating road corridors that includes production aspects, which arevisualized and analyzed in 3D. By using ETL technology to handle interoperability problems, existing tools forroad corridor planning, production planning and 3D visualization are used to demonstrate the method. Thefindings indicate that large scale production aspects related to road corridors can be modeled, analyzed andvisualized in 3D, which can benefit stakeholders in making decisions.

  • Hanle effect and electron spin polarization in InAs/GaAs quantum dots up to room temperature
  • 2012
  • In: Nanotechnology. - : IOP Publishing. - 0957-4484 .- 1361-6528. ; 23:13, s. 135705-
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Hanle effect in InAs/GaAs quantum dots (QDs) is studied under optical orientation as a function of temperature over the range of 150-300 K, with the aim to understand the physical mechanism responsible for the observed sharp increase of electron spin polarization with increasing temperature. The deduced spin lifetime Ts of positive trions in the QDs is found to be independent of temperature, and is also insensitive to excitation energy and density. It is argued that the measured Ts is mainly determined by the longitudinal spin flip time (T1) and the spin dephasing time (T2 *) of the studied QD ensemble, of which both are temperatureindependent over the studied temperature range and the latter makes a larger contribution. The observed sharply rising of the QD spin polarization degree with increasing temperature, on the other hand, is shown to be induced by an increase in spin injection efficiency from the barrier/wetting layer and also by a moderate increase in spin detection efficiency of the QD.

  • Participation weighting based on sociodemographic register data improved external validity in a population-based cohort study
  • 2019
  • In: Journal of Clinical Epidemiology. - : Elsevier BV. - 0895-4356. ; 108, s. 54-63
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Objective: To investigate whether inverse probability of participation weighting (IPPW) using register data on sociodemographic and disease history variables can improve external validity in a cohort study with selective participation. Study Design and Setting: We fitted various IPPW models by logistic regression using register data for the participants (n = 1,111) and nonparticipants (n = 1,132) of a Swedish cohort study. For each of six diagnostic groups, we then estimated (1) weighted disease prevalence proportions and (2) weighted cross-sectional associations (odds ratios) between sociodemographic variables and disease prevalence. Using register data on the remaining individuals of the entire study population of men and women aged 50-64 years (n = 22,259), we addressed how the choice of variables used for IPPW influenced estimation errors. Results: Disease prevalence proportions were generally underestimated in the absence of IPPW but became markedly closer to population values after IPPW using sociodemographic variables. We found limited evidence of selective participation bias in association estimates, but IPPW improved external validity when bias was present. Conclusions: IPPW using sociodemographic register data can improve the external validity of disease prevalence estimates in cohort studies with selective participation. The performance of IPPW for association estimates merits further investigations in longitudinal settings and larger cohorts. © 2018 Elsevier Inc.

  • Rebleeding and endometrial growth in women with postmenopausal bleeding and endometrial thickness <5 mm managed by dilatation and curettage or ultrasound follow-up: a randomized controlled study
  • 2001
  • In: Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology. - : Wiley. - 1469-0705 .- 0960-7692. ; 18:5, s. 499-504
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • OBJECTIVE: To compare the frequency of rebleeding and endometrial growth during a 12-month follow-up period between women with postmenopausal bleeding and an endometrial thickness < 5 mm managed by dilatation and curettage, and those managed by ultrasound follow-up. DESIGN: Consecutive women with postmenopausal bleeding and an endometrial thickness < 5 mm were randomized to ultrasound follow-up after 3, 6, and 12 months (n = 48) or to primary dilatation and curettage with ultrasound follow-up at 12 months (n = 49). At all follow-up examinations, the endometrial thickness was measured and the women were asked about rebleeding. The endometrium was sampled at the 12-month examination, if sampling had not been performed previously because of rebleeding or endometrial growth. RESULTS: Rebleeding was reported by 33% (16/48) of the women in the ultrasound group and by 21% (10/48) of those in the dilatation and curettage group (P = 0.17). Endometrial growth to >or= 5 mm was found in 21% (10/48) of the women in the ultrasound group and in 10% (5/48) of those in the dilatation and curettage group (P = 0.16). No endometrial pathology was found in women with isolated rebleeding. Endometrial pathology during follow-up was found more often in women with endometrial growth than in those without (33% vs. 4%; P = 0.008). CONCLUSION: Rebleeding and endometrial growth are common during a follow-up period of 12 months in women with postmenopausal bleeding and an endometrial thickness < 5 mm, irrespective of whether or not dilatation and curettage is primarily carried out. If these women are managed by ultrasound follow-up, endometrial sampling should be performed if the endometrium grows, but not necessarily in the case of rebleeding without endometrial growth.

  • “I am not a sporting man, Fräulein” : The tragedy and farce of James Bond’s heroic prowess as challenges to the ‘popular’
  • 2022
  • In: The World Is Not Enough.
  • Conference paper (other academic/artistic)abstract
    • This presentation concerns how the term “popular” is actualized in James Bond films, and specifically how sports are played out in the saga. While both sports and Bond are pivotal parts of Western popular culture from the mid-20th century and onwards, their relationship is ambiguous. In his battles with various villains, Bond becomes embroiled in action sequences that are curiously spiced up with sporting activities. Such sports are often culturally coded in ways that represent certain social classes and practices (leisure, extreme, etc.) but are transformed in the cinematic context: sometimes they are emphasized for stylizations of prowess and violence; sometimes they are distorted into parody and comic relief. The agent’s sportive ambiguities are emblematic of the ambivalent status of Bond’s character in contemporary culture, pivoting between high and low, elites and masses. Fulfilling Marx’s adage about how history repeats itself (“first as tragedy, then as farce”), Bond’s personage not only reappears in different incarnations, portrayed by different actors over time; each actor also repeats a similar pattern in their respective Bond biographies that is enacted through the employment of sports. We conclude by claiming that when Bond distorts sports the meaning of the term “popular” per se is problematized.
