- Slutsatsen av denna undersökning är att Birger Gregersson has skrivit ett skickligt utformat, något pompöst officium som förmedlar en bild av Birgitta som ett helt och hållet universellt helgon och samtidigt en utsökt prydnad för sitt eget land. Nils Hermansson har å sin sida givit oss en Birgitta som i sitt liv och sin undervisning är en trogen dotter till Jungfru Maria och en kyrkolärare. Nils Hermansson avsåg möjligen att hans officium skulle användas inom birgittinorden medan Birger Gregersson skrev sitt för allmänt bruk i Sverige. I praktiken kom de att användas i olika stift i Norden och deras beståndsdelar kom ofta att blandas. I vilken mån de båda författarna hade glädje av sin utbildning vid universitetet i Paris när de skrev sina officier förblir en öppen fråga.

- For 300 years, Swedish students attended the university in Paris. They were fairly numerous from the 1210s, when the universities got their first statutes, until the end of the 1400s, when the once pan-European university became a French institution. Druing those 300 years, many travelled to Paris for intellectual improvement. But how many were they? Who acquired a degree? Who taught them? And from where did the Swedish students come? These questions are not so easy to answer. The frequently incomplete source material frustrates any ambition to provide accurate information. However, the situation is not completely hopeless. After all, it is possible to derive from the surviving sources some patterns and trends over time.

- Force est de constater que nous savons peu de choses sur les étudiants suédois du Moyen Âge : dans la grande majorité des cas, ils n'ont laissé que leur prénom, par example «Johannes de Suecia». On s'étonnera ainsi de voir deux Suédois — un étudiant et son serviteur — sortir de l'ombre et laisser une empreinte indélébile dans les chroniques d'Yves de Saint-Denis. Peu aprés, elle fut même insérée dans l'histoire officielle des rois de France, les Grandes chroniques de France. Cette anecdote curieuse mérite d'être connue de tous ceux qui s'intéressent aux étudiants scandinaves et aux relations franco-suédoises du Moyen Âge.
