  • MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF Fe-Cr-Mo-[Cu-Ni]-C SINTERED STEELS
  • 2010
  • In: Acta Metallurgica Slovaca - Conference. - 1338-1660. ; 1, s. 580-585
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • The effect of high-temperature vacuum sintering (11800C) integrated with high (6K/s), medium (3K/s) and slow (0.1K/s) cooling rates and conventional sintering at 11800C with cooling rate of ~0.17K/s on shifting the microstructural composition to significant portion of martensite-bainite and thus effective improvement of mechanical properties of Fe-Cr-Mo-[Cu-Ni]-C sintered steels (Astaloy Cr+1 and 2% Cu and/or 50% Distaloy AB powder was investigated. In dependence on chemical composition the yield and tensile strengths of 890-1150 MPa and 913-1230 MPa and impact energy of 10-15 J were achieved by sinter-hardening. The yield and tensile strengths were approximately double than those resulting from conventional sintering.

  • Influence of drug load on the printability and solid-state properties of 3D-printed naproxen-based amorphous solid dispersion
  • 2021
  • In: Molecules. - : MDPI AG. - 1420-3049 .- 1420-3049. ; 26:15
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Fused deposition modelling-based 3D printing of pharmaceutical products is facing challenges like brittleness and printability of the drug-loaded hot-melt extruded filament feedstock and stabilization of the solid-state form of the drug in the final product. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of the drug load on printability and physical stability. The poor glass former naproxen (NAP) was hot-melt extruded with Kollidon® VA 64 at 10–30% w/w drug load. The extrudates (filaments) were characterised using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). It was confirmed that an amorphous solid dispersion was formed. A temperature profile was developed based on the results from TGA, DSC, and DMA and temperatures used for 3D printing were selected from the profile. The 3D-printed tablets were characterised using DSC, X-ray computer microtomography (XµCT), and X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD). From the DSC and XRPD analysis, it was found that the drug in the 3D-printed tablets (20 and 30% NAP) was amorphous and remained amorphous after 23 weeks of storage (room temperature (RT), 37% relative humidity (RH)). This shows that adjusting the drug ratio can modulate the brittleness and improve printability without compromising the physical stability of the amorphous solid dispersion.

  • Psychometric evaluation of the Swedish Child Sheehan Disability Scale in adolescent psychiatric patients
  • 2021
  • In: Scandinavian Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology. - : Exeley, Inc.. - 2245-8875. ; 9, s. 137-146
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Background: Assessment of disability is part of the psychiatric diagnostic process, and validated scales are needed for the assessment of functioning. The Swedish translations of the Child Sheehan Disability Scale (CSDS) for adolescents and parents (CSDS-P) have been adapted for use in psychiatric settings. Objective: The purpose of the study was to explore the psychometric properties of the Swedish CSDS and the CSDS-P among adolescent psychiatric patients.Method: Patients (n = 107) were assessed with the CSDS, the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ adolescent), and the Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia for School-Age Children-Present and Lifetime version (K-SADS-PL) diagnostic interview. Their parents participated in the interview and completed the CSDS-P and SDQ parent. Results: Internal consistency was alpha =.813 for the CSDS (three items) and alpha =.842 for the CSDS-P (five items). For both scales, principal component analyses showed one component. The correlations between the total scores of the CSDS and CSDS-P in relation to a general K-SADS-PL symptom summation index were r(s) = .332, p < .001 and r(s) = .237, p = .014, respectively. Correlations with the total K-SADS function summation index were r(s) < .300 for both. The correlation between the CSDS and the total difficulties score on the SDQ was r(s) = .433,p < .001.Conclusions: The Swedish translations of the CSDS and CSDS-P had similar psychometric properties to Whiteside's CSDS and the Adult Sheehan Disability Scale. Concurrent validity and correlation between the CSDS and CSDS-P were weak.
