Journal article (other academic/artistic)abstract

Reports (other academic/artistic)abstract
- This study has been accomplished through the Department of Psychology, Institution of Social Science, University of Karlstad. The study is further presented as a part of the VERKA-project, Department of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Institution of Information Technology, Uppsala University. The aim of the study is to examine how user participation in systems development can successfully be accomplished. Another purpose is the development of guidelines in user centred systems design. The result is analysed and described from a psychological perspective. A qualitative method was deemed to be the appropriate way to obtain data in the study. The empirical information was collected through interviews. To analyse the material Karlsson's Empirical Phenomenological Psychological Method (the EPP-method) was used. The respondents were participants in RSV's and RFV's systems development projects under the VERKA-project at Uppsala University. A total of 11 respondents participated in the study. Generally the respondents had a positive attitude towards participating in systems development projects - even if the work from time to time was considered burdensome. The participants felt like equal members in the systems design process, and they felt that their opinions were as important as anyone else's. Another discovery was a role division with the members of the systems development project on one side and their former colleagues on the other. An important part in future development processes can be to inform user representatives about experiences from earlier participants. The development of cooperation between projects and former colleagues can have a positive impact on acceptance, learning and attitudes.

Book chapter (other academic/artistic)abstract
- The transformation from an industrial society to a knowledge society has in substantial ways altered the conditions for urban planning and management. This chapter addresses the question of how to involve large groups of citizens that are directly as well as indirectly affected by various urban development planning measures. It discusses the concept of city marketing, from a perspective of practice and theory, and we identify challenges concerning the role of citizens in contemporary urban development planning. The chapter explores the descriptive city marketing theory and considers city marketing as a demand-oriented approach to urban planning. It discusses why and how the interests and attitudes of local citizens should be taken into account in urban development planning and reinvention processes. The chapter discusses the quantitative approach is one possibility to involve citizens and strengthen their input in urban development planning. It explores how to identify and measure the demand for public goods in the built environment.

Tomographic scintigraphy using a pinhole collimator and a rotating gamma camera
- 1990

In: Nuklearmedizin. - 0029-5566. ; 29:2, s. 47-50

Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
- When a pinhole collimator is to be used for tomographic studies the standard SPECT software has to be modified so as to avoid serious image distortion outside the axis of rotation. The MTF measured at the axis of rotation shows that the better resolution of the pinhole collimator as compared with that of a parallel-hole collimator improves the tomographic image. The low sensitivity of the pinhole collimator excludes the use of an aperture smaller than 6 mm for patient tomographic studies where the activity which may be administered is restricted.
