Modern adhesion theory applied on coating and gluing of wood. : Analysis of the interaction between wood and high solid linseed oil paint.

• This work describes the requirements for the interaction between wood and linseed oil paintwith regard to "modem adhesion theory", i.e. known as Lewis acid-base theory. After a shortintroduction about linseed oil as binder in paint, results from an investigation of the surfacetension properties for linseed oil willbepresented. Finally, the total interaction between linseedoil paint and wood will be discussed.
