  • During recent measurements of thermal conductivity using the transient hot-wire method, data were obtained for pressure-temperature coordinates corresponding to transitions amongst phases II, III and IV of NH4Br which extended reliable knowledge of the phase diagram to pressures of about 2 GPa. The previously suggested common reduced phase diagram for the ammonium halides was found to be a relatively poor approximation in connection with the II-IV phase boundary of NH4Br and NH4Cl at pressures of about 2 GPa.
