  • In this article, I explore the way Ashtanga yoga specifically (as a form of transnational physical yoga) relates acrobatic bodily practices with expected spiritual development and potential modes of consciousness, drawing on, among other things, yoga philosophy. Furthermore, I will discuss what it means to these understandings that they also have unfolded and continue to unfold within a transnational, and thus multi-religious, environments.
