Uyghur folk song research

• Title: 维吾尔族民歌研究 / Uyghur folk song researchAuthor: Zhou, Ji (周吉)This is a study by Zhou Ji ( 周吉, 1943-2008), a Chinese ethnomusicologist and composer who lived most of his life in Xinjiang. He makes a detailed analysis of the music of Uyghur folk songs, with particular attention to the complexities of modal and rhythmic structure. This work consists of 195 pages of analysis, and an 88 page appendix with the music and texts of 82 songs.  It was published through the mimeograph process in a very small print run in 1982 through the Xinjiang Branch of the Chinese Music Association.Nathan Light prepared the digital files and published on the Zenodo.org website on the basis of Zhou Ji's request that this work be published in a permanent venue.
