The dialectics of gender:ritualizing gender relations in Late Bronze Age southern Scandinavia

• The masculine, martial world of rock art is contrasted with the female world of metal depositions. It is suggested that it reflects an increasingly risky world of males traveling giving rise to more powerful positions at home for women.
