- The Budsene hoard, arranged with animal bones, female dress equipment, and spiral rings in a well, represents a rare type in hoards. Period V hoards are also dissimilar to contemporary burials in equipment. In this paper Budsene is related to a living person, to resources, production, and life-cycle of a farm. It is suggested that the Budsene hoard presents a glimpse into women’s co-responsibilities in the production and organization of a farm in a prosperous North European setting.
